Archeological tourism is fairly developed at Van. A great deal of castles are available within the borders of the city. Van Castle at the centrum is one of the alluring ones left from Urartus. Cavustepe Castle at Çavuştepe is a glorious structure from 1960s. Agarti, Ayanis, Kef, Below and Above Zifistan, Hiset, Kalecik, Muradiye, Yoncatepe, Mukus Castles and more are existed in the city. Tilkitepe, Karagunduz and Dilkaya Tumuluses are the main constructions from the historical heritage of the city. Karagunduz Mound at Karagunduz Village turns up as an island at the coast of Ercek Lake.

You will live the history itself when traveling these places.
The city is breemed over with innumerable rivers. lakes and streams. Van Lake giving its name to the city is the biggest lake in Turkey and the 5th biggest one in Europe. Bendihami Stream, Hosap Stream, Catak Stream, Karasu Stream, Memedik Sream, Ercek Lake, Akgol Lake, Sultan Lake, Kazli Lake and Muradiye Cascade are among the natural benefactions at Van.
Capsized boat off Samos, 25 drowned
(28 Jan 2016) Greece's coast guard on Thursday said at least 25 people had died after a boat with migrants and refugees on board sank off the northern coast of Samos, close to Turkey.
Ten of the dead were children.
The coast guard said the bodies of five girls, five boys, 10 men and five women were recovered, while 10 people had been rescued.
A search and rescue operation was continuing in the area, the coast guard said.
Survivors' accounts of how many people had been on board were unclear, and authorities are uncertain of how many more people might be missing.
The passengers had been travelling in a wooden boat that partially sank.
The exact circumstances of the incident were unclear.

With the SKYFALL crew now in Istanbul, Turkey, this marks the third time in the 50-Year history of the James Bond franchise that the city has served as a backdrop to 007's adventures, with previous outings including FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH.
Production moved to Turkey in March 2012, with filming reported to be continuing until 6 May. Production was expected to take three months in the country. Adana stands in for the outskirts of Istanbul in the film. A group of Turkish teenagers infiltrated a closed set in a railway sidings in Adana to film rehearsals of a fight scene on top of a train before being caught by security. The train scene depicted in trailers showed the Varda Viaduct outside of Adana. Bond stunt double, Andy Lister, dived backwards off the 300-foot drop for the scene. A crane was set up on a train carriage to hold a safety line. Parts of Istanbul -- including the Spice Bazaar, Yeni Camii, the Main Post Office, Sultanahmet Square and the Grand Bazaar — were closed for filming in April. Store owners in the affected areas were reportedly allowed to open their shops, but were not allowed to conduct business, instead being paid TRYTurkish lira 750 ($418) per day as compensation. Production faced criticism for allegedly damaging buildings while filming a motorcycle chase across rooftops in the city. Michael G. Wilson denied these claims, pointing out that the film crew had removed sections of rooftops before filming began and replaced them with replicas for the duration of the shoot; when filming finished, the original rooftops would be restored. The production team negotiated with 613 part owners of the Calis Beach in Fethiye, to film along the coastline.

Diocaesarea Olba (UZUNCABURC - MERSIN - TURKEY)
Uzuncaburç (Diocaesarea-Olba), 32 km (20 miles) north of Silifke (A County of Mersin) near Turkey's Mediterranean coast, is the ancient city of Diocaesarea-Olba , famous for its great Temple of Zeus Olbius.
At Uzuncaburç (oo-ZOON-jah-boorch) the most impressive ruins are those of the Temple of Zeus Olbius, the nearby Temple of Tyche, and the monumental city gate. There are also ruins of a nymphaeum (fountain), and a theater.
Of course there is the eponymous tall Hellenistic tower, a stolid squarish one over 22 meters (72 feet) high, built for observation and defense. You'll see it as you enter the village. You can enter it by a door on the south side, but there's little to see inside, and you cannot ascend.
The settlment started during the Hellenisttic period and continued through the Roman period.
This area şs calculated to be older than 2300 years.

M/V Fahri Ekşioğlu troubled in Istanbul Strait
Türk bayraklı M/V Fahri Ekşioğlu adlı 87 metre boyundaki kargo gemisi İstanbul Boğazı'nın en dar yeri olan Rumelihisari önlerinde arıza yaparak Boğaz'da aykırılandı. Bu esnada dev bir dökme yük gemisi gelmekteydi üstelik yüklüydü. Boğazda bir felaketin eşiğinden daha böylece kıl payı dönüldü. Olay, bu sabah saat 08:00 sıralarında meydana geldi.
Bu sabah MV FAHRİ EKŞİOĞLU Karadenize çıkarken RumeliHisar'ı önünde zor anlar yaşadı. Geminin arkasında seyireden 290 metre boyunda M/V CAROUGE isimli dökme yük gemisi vardı ancak arızalanan M/V Fahri Ekşioğlu ile arasındaki mesafeden dolayı bir aksilik yaşanmadı.
Olaya bir romorkör ve Kıyı emniyetinin bir botu hemen müdahale etti.
Makine arızası yaptığı bildirilen M/V Fahri Ekşioğlu adlı kargo gemisinin arızasının giderildiği ve Büyükdere koyunda demirlediği bildiriliyor.
