Wendy and I decided to hike Kaymoor Miners' Trail in the West Virginia Trail Inventory. I always bring my camera with the intent of posting a few images on Facebook, but I fell in love with the trail and the moment (again!) and decided to make a video slideshow out of this one. I got more than I bargained for as I'm also learning a new video editing program. Well, I hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed the hike!

Tag along with us to the New River Gorge in Fayetteville WV on the Long Point Trail Hike. It's a fairly flat hike out to the end where it starts to go downhill a bit to the final overlook which is just beautiful. We managed to get there and have the place to ourselves for a short while and then the flood gates opened up. I would recommend going at daylight or as early as you can to avoid crowds. Adventuring in Fayette County WV with my cousin. This is called Cotton Hill. It's not only a dam, it's one of the main scenic overlooks at Hawks Nest State Park.

Hamlet- West Virginia- Abandoned Lumber Town- New River
Hamlet West Virginia was a logging town that boomed from 1880 to the late 1930s. Due to high demand most of the old growth forests were completely cut down. With no more trees to cut for lumber the town and near by rail line were abandoned.
Not much remains of the once prosperous lumber mill but a few stone foundations deep within the now new regrown forest. To reach Hamlet follow the Glade Creek Trail within the New River Gorge National River.
