Kent Falls NW Connecticut
Streamed this video on YouTube at the only spot at the falls with sufficient wifi. Ironically, it was the topmost falls in the massive series of falls that descend one upon another. Given all the rainstorms this past spring and into early summer, Kent Falls flow is overly abundant this summer.
On a side note: Because of its exceptional scenic qualities, Kent Falls has been featured in a number of magazine and television advertisements.

DnSAdventures - Hiking Southford Falls State Park in Connecticut
In this week's adventure we headed over to Southford Falls State Park in Connecticut. We were very impressed with the cascading waterfalls near the entrance of the park! After we checked out the waterfalls we hiked the loop around the entire park where we saw a cool covered bridge and climbed a fire tower.

DEVILS HOPYARD HIKE / East Haddam CT
This is a 860 acre forest that I used to hike with family years ago. It has many views of the stream from Chapman Falls (at beginning of video), and a overlook of the land.
While the video is quick and with cheerful hiking music, there are legends of Satan spooking the Puritan settlers of the land. It was believed that the demon sat on top of the Chapman Falls like a throne and played a violin? People have reported seeing shadows, orbs, and even EVP's while hiking.
The Hopyard part is because there was brewery at one time in the area.
I found this out after the hike and editing the video, so I will have to go back sometime and see if I can find something spooky.
This is an edit of the same one I released this past weekend. I needed to censor my language and some graffiti on the rocks.

This 295 acre parcel of land located in the northeastern section of the town of Kent was acquired in 1919 as a gift from the White Memorial Foundation. The area was developed in the 1930's by the Civil Works Administration, one of the numerous post-depression era projects funded by the United States Government. In the 1970s, trail reconstruction and maintenance was spearheaded by the Youth Conservation Corps of Connecticut. In your visit, be sure to admire the covered bridge constructed in 1974 that is an authentic reproduction of the 1930s original.
There are many scenic vantage points along the trail network and an open field perfect for picnicking and summer fun. This park is a highlight of the Connecticut Art Trail, its importance being derived from the impressionist works created by artists beginning in the 19th century.
Wander across the covered bridge, hike the falls, and feel the mist on your face as water cascades 250 feet down this bucolic mountain stream on its way to joining the Housatonic River.

How to Find the Leatherman's Cave in Watertown, CT
A lot of people have gone hiking, looking for the Leatherman's Cave in Watertown and have been unsuccessful in their search. So, here's a video that might help. This is the easiest route to the cave which is located off Thomaston Road in a wooded area owned by the State of Connecticut just up the hill and across the street from Black Rock State Park.
