Khao Khitchakut - attraction in Chanthaburi Thailand
Khao Khitchakut is one of the attractions in Thailand.
This interesting attraction is located in the Khao Khitchakut National Park in Chanthaburi province (Thailand) and it is open for visitors only two months a year.
It is very attractive to visit this landmark at night time and make only 1 wish...

HIKING up to BUDDHA'S FOOTPRINT at Khao Khitchakut Mountain | CHANTHABURI, THAILAND (เขาคิชฌกูฏ)
Today we are hiking up the highest point in Chanthaburi, Thailand. At the top is the sacred temple, with Buddha's foot print. The views are spectacular. You cannot drive up here! There are only 3 months out of the year that authorized transport vehicles, with experienced drivers, take people up for a fee -- usually December, January, February. That said, you can hike up anytime of the year. So, we did!
I am on a healthy fruitarian health and adventure retreat in Thailand. I hope you enjoy these Thailand travel vlogs.

Waterfalls, Jungle and Trekking. Khao Chamao- Khao Wong Thailand
Khao Chamao-Khao Wong waterfall is a splendid affair - the waterfall has a number of tiers pushing high into the skyline and with crystal-clear water cascading into a variety of pools below.
As the water is so clear many varieties of fish can be seen from the sides of the pools. In all the waterfall covers and area of around three kilometres.

Khao Khitchakut hike (February 2019)
Each year between late January and early April a jungle strewn mountain trail is opened near the Thai-Cambodian border. Pilgrims climb the holy mountain at Khao Khitchakut early in the morning in order to reach the peak before sunrise. It is believed there is an actual footprint of Buddha on this mountain. Join me and three of my Thai friends as we climb the mountain.

HARDCORE JUNGLE TREK | My MOM FELL, but kept on! | Khao Sip Ha Chan in Chanthaburi Thailand
This hike was hard! Our group hired National Park rangers to be our guides through the lush jungles of Thailand, in Chanthaburi, Thailand.
This is Khao Sip Ha Chan National Park, which means fifteen waterfalls. We hiked to crazy heights. There are wild elephants, and so the guides were there to protect us, and keep us from meeting them. Apparently they will attack.
We were taking leeches off each other, fighting off ants and mosquitoes, and swimming in waterfalls. We hiked waterfalls, straight up cliffs.
♥️ My lovely mom had a fall early on in the hike, but still kept going strong after that. I'm so proud of her. However, this hike is very difficult, so she stayed back and let the group go on.
This was easily the biggest workout ever for me. I was exhausted. We hiked this mountain all on FRUIT.

Geography[edit]
Khao Khitchakut National Park is 28 kilometres (17 mi) northeast of Chanthaburi town in Khao Khitchakut District. The park's area is 59 square kilometres (23 sq mi). The highest point is Khao Phra Bat peak at 1,085 metres (3,560 ft). The park, one of Thailand's smallest national parks, borders the much larger Khao Soi Dao Wildlife Sanctuary.[1][2]
History[edit]
On 4 May 1977, Khao Khitchakut was designated Thailand's 14th National Park.[1]
Attractions[edit]
The Khao Phra Bat mountaintop is the site of a Buddha footprint and is an important religious place for Thai Buddhists. During the time around the Magha Puja holiday (in February or March) large numbers of visitors make the pilgrimage here. Also on Khao Phra Bat peak there are rock formations to which the shapes of various objects have been attributed: a pagoda, a monk's alms bowl, a turtle and an elephant.[1]
Near Krathing Falls in Khao Khitchakut National Park
The park's largest waterfall is Krathing, a waterfall of 13 separate levels, intersecting nature trails at various levels. These falls are fed by the Chanthaburi River. Other park waterfalls include Changsay and Klong Piboon
The town covers the two tambons Talat and Wat Mai of Mueang Chanthaburi District. As of 2005, the town had a population of 27,602. The town figures in the legacy of King Taksin. In 1981 the Thai cabinet passed a resolution to bestow on him the honorary title of the Great. When the Bank of Thailand issued the 12th Series of banknotes, called The Great Series, the monument of King Taksin the Great in the town's Tungnachaey recreational park appeared on the back of the 20 baht note issued 28 December 1981,[1] the 214th anniversary of his coronation.

Climate[edit]
Chanthaburi has a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification Am), with little variation in temperature throughout the year. Rainfall, however, varies dramatically by season. Rainfall is light and infrequent in the short dry season (December to January), but the wet season (late-April to October) features torrential rain. February, March, and November are transitional months, during which significant rainfall may occur in some years, while in other years little rain falls.

Trip To Mae Ping National Park (Thailand)
We wanted to visit the Koh Luang waterfall, but it is closed during the rain season (wet season). As far as the I remember, the rangers said it is open from October till June. But we saw many other nice things. The Mae Ping National Park is a nice place.
Tatinya Tours & Travel: Hi Greg, Maybe it's because August has too much rain and it's dangerous there or maybe doing some renovated. Anyway the perfect time to go there is about November to February. From March or April the water is not green anymore. :-)
