The Old Vic and West-End smash hit Noises Off comes to Edinburgh following its triumphant and critically acclaimed sell out run in London.

This celebrated play serves up a riotous double bill - a play within a play. Hurtling along at breakneck speed it follows the backstage antics of a touring theatre company as they stumble their way through rehearsals, to a shambolic first night in Weston--super-Mare, and a final disastrous performance in Stockton-on-Tees.
Directed by Lindsay Posner, the UK tour stars David Bark-Jones, Maureen Beattie, Simon Bubb, Danielle Flett, Geoffrey Freshwater, Neil Pearson, Thomasin Rand and Sasha Waddell.

The Woman in Black | King's Theatre, Edinburgh | Mon 22 to Sat 27 April 2013
Everybody in the theatre can hear you scream!
Unanimously acclaimed by the critics, The Woman in Black combines the power and intensity of live theatre with a cinematic quality inspired by the world of film noir. The formula delivers an evening of unremitting drama, transporting the audience into a terrifying and ghostly world.
A lawyer engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It all begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories the borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep...
Now celebrating its 23rd year in the West End, over 7 million people have lived to tell the tale of one of the most chilling and successful theatre events ever staged.
'A truly nerve-shredding experience' Daily Mail
'Don't go unless you like being scared out your wits' Sunday Mirror
'The audience were jumping out their seats' The Observer
'The most brilliantly effective spine chiller you will ever encounter. If you haven't seen this show yet you are missing a treat' Daily Telegraph

Edinburgh Showcase 2019: 'Man on the Moon' by Keisha Thompson co-commissioned by Contact and STUN
Keisha Thompson is a Manchester-based writer, performance artist and producer. She makes socially engaged work that often interrogates taboo subjects. Her debut book, Lunar, features her poetry as well as the Man on the Moon script. She is Young People’s Producer at Contact, a leading venue that places young people at the heart of its activity, and Chair of Future’s Venture Foundation, a radical arts funding body. She was selected to be part of Leaders of Tomorrow, a scheme that prepares UK theatre practitioners from minority ethnic backgrounds for future leadership roles.
Man on the Moon is a poignant, witty and accessible solo show performed by Thompson. It's a personal and powerful work that tackles her father's mental health problems and their effect on the father-daughter relationship. Exploring black Britishness, the piece is made against a background where minority ethnic people are overrepresented in mental health institutions yet underrepresented as mental health practitioners. With poetry, looped sounds and storytelling, Thompson tells of cultural displacement, religious confusions and political paranoia; investigating masculinity, mental health and the family. Moonwhile, a poetic EP based on the show, was recently released online.
Man on the Moon is in Edinburgh as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The British Council’s biennial Edinburgh Showcase is the single biggest opportunity for UK theatre companies to introduce their work to international promoters. The programme comprises new work that represents the very best of contemporary theatre and dance, reflecting the breadth and diversity of British performing arts. The 2019 Edinburgh Showcase takes place between Monday 19-Saturday 24 August 2019.

The History Boys Trailer
Blissfully funny In short, a superb, life-enhancing play - The Guardian
King's Theatre Edinburgh, Tue 6 - Sat 10 April
One of the great plays of the decade, The History Boys is set in a school in the North of England where a boisterous bunch of bright, funny sixth-form boys are attempting to gain entrance to Oxford and Cambridge whilst fending off the distractions of sport and sex. In Alan Bennett's much-loved play, staffroom battles and the anarchy of adolescence provide a rich vein of comedy.
