Kingussie Part 1
Kingussie is a town in the Highland Region of Scotland. It is one settlement in the Highland Council ward of Badenoch and Strathspey, and is the capital of Badenoch. It lies beside the A9 road, although the old route of the A9 serves as the town's main street which has been bypassed since 1979. Kingussie is 42 miles (68 km) south of Inverness, 12 miles (19 km) south of Aviemore, and 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Newtonmore, which is its greatest rival in the game of shinty.
According to the Guinness Book of Records 2005, Kingussie is World sport's most successful sporting team of all time, winning 20 consecutive leagues and going 4 years unbeaten at one stage in the early 1990s.

Kingussie Micro Hydro Project
The project aims to restore a 90 year old micro hydro scheme on the River Gynack that flows through Kingussie. This will produce an estimated annual energy yield of 72,250kwh and an annual CO2 saving of 36 tonnes, which will provide an income stream of an estimated £15k per annum. This will be used in the community for other initiatives to benefit the local area and population.

Kingussie is a course in the remote highlands of Scotland. It is beautiful and not visible from the road. Be sure to bring a camera and yes if you are looking for the green on your second shot on hole #4 then look up, way up on the plateau!

North-east Scotland was worst affected by flooding, particularly the Inverness to Moray area and Kingussie to Aviemore but also around Ullapool. Rail travel was affected, there was flooding and damage to roads and 200 homes were evacuated in Elgin. Ferry services were cancelled and there were reports of fallen trees across north-east Scotland and in eastern England.

Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Dornoch, Sutherland, Scotland
Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Sutherland, Scotland - There is evidence of golf in 1616 Dornoch but the formal founding of the club is with a nine hole layout in 1877. Old Tom Morris updated that nine in 1886 before returning three years later to extend the course to eighteen. Various modifications were made after the Second World War to give us the 6,711 yard, par 70 gem we enjoy today. GOLF Magazine's 14th best course in the world is a gorgeous place to play along a half moon shaped stretch of beach with the first eight holes played out along and atop a ridge and the remaining ten holes played back by the sea except the 17th and 18th. Dornoch is famous for its plateau greens which Old Tom designed and Donald Ross took to the world. After serving as Morris' design apprentice, Ross returned to Dornoch as greenskeeper until leaving for the States in 1899. He was appointed golf professional at Pinehurst in 1900 where he began his course design career.

Tarbat Ness, Easter Ross, Scotland.
The Tarbat Ness Lighthouse is located at the North West tip of the Tarbat Ness peninsula near the fishing village of Portmahomack on the east coast of Scotland. It was built in 1830 by Robert Stevenson and has an elevation of 53 metres (174 ft) and 203 steps to the top of the tower.
Tarbat Ness Lighthouse was engineered by Robert Stevenson for the Northern Lighthouse Board and the light was first exhibited on 26 January 1830. James Smith of Inverness was the contractor responsible for the building of the lighthouse which cost £9,361. The lighthouse tower is the third tallest in Scotland behind North Ronaldsay and Skerryvore and is notable for having two distinguishing broad red bands.
