Osaka Japan Kitashinchi at night 大阪 北新地
It is a restaurant area representative of Osaka Kita, also a luxury eatery area lined with Ginza in Tokyo. It is narrowly spreading east to west south of the diamond district in front of the Osaka station (Umeda 1 - chome). There are no food shops and pachinko parlors in areas where food and beverage shops centering on lounges, clubs, restaurants, etc. are concentrated.
It is the state of Kitashinchi in the evening. Speaking of entertainment, Ginza is famous in Tokyo, Kitashinchi is famous in Osaka. There are images of only high-end shops, but there are also cheap yakitori, okonomiyaki and Izakaya,and takoyaki. Some luxury Japanese restaurants also have lunch for lunch, so please try going there once.
夕方の北新地の様子です。接待といえば東京では銀座が有名ですが、大阪では北新地が有名です。高級店ばかりのイメージがありますが、お安い焼き鳥、お好み焼き、居酒屋もあり、たこ焼きもあります。高級日本料理店も、お昼にランチを出しているところもあり、ぜひ一度行ってみてください。

Kita-Shinchi located at the south of JR Osaka station is one of the top restaulant districts in Japan. Just like Tokyo's Ginza, Kita-Shinchi is filled with thousands of high-class bars, clubs, lounges and small restaurants where Japanese businessmen entertain their clients. As the night gets deeper, the neon signs become brighter and more enticing.

Kitashinchi
Kitashinchi was a high-class entertainment district of Osaka until the end of the bubble era, at which point it's reputation decreased. It has been known as a red light district since the Edo period. The area hosts restaurants, karaoke, hostess clubs, snack bars, brothels, and pole dance bars. The area is famous for its kushikatsu restaurants.
Tōru Hashimoto, former Mayor of Osaka and Governor of Osaka Prefecture, while working as a lawyer in the Tobitashinchi red light district in the south of Osaka, was revealed to have had an affair with hostesses in Kitashinchi before entering politics, a scandal that led to heavy criticism during political campaigns, along with allegations of ties to yakuza.

本町通と御堂筋の交差点から御堂筋を北に向かって走り、梅新南で左折し、北新地本通に入り、桜橋交差点まで走ります。北新地はもう一度夜に撮影したほうが良さそうです。
北新地（きたしんち、きたのしんち）は大阪市北区曽根崎新地にある大阪最大級の高級飲食店街の通称です。単に新地と呼ばれることも多く、新地本通り、新地新聞、新地のクラブ、新地のホステスなどと冠せられ、東京の銀座と並んで、日本を代表する高級飲食店街です。
御堂筋をものすごい速度で走っているように見えますが、カメラを最も広角にしているためで、実際はそんなに速くありません。遠近感が実際と異なり、左右が狭く見え、また、カメラの位置も低いので、暴走しているように見えてしまいます。通行人にぶつかりそうに見えますが、実際は十分に間隔が空いています。その証拠に通行人は全く驚いていません。
ちなみに御堂筋の歩道は「自転車歩道通行可」です。北新地本通りでは一部歩道を走っていますが、道幅が狭くすぐに対向車が来るのでやむをえません。

■北新地「
財界人の情報交換の場として栄えてきた、大阪・キタを代表する高級歓楽街。
バー、クラブ、スナック、小料理屋、和洋割烹などの飲食店約3000店舗が集まる、キタの高級歓楽街。北は国道2号線、南は堂島川、東は御堂筋、そして西は四ツ橋に囲まれた、東西約500m／南北約250mの長方形の地域。その始まりは、元禄元年（1688）淀川本支流各所の改修工事に伴う、堂島新地の誕生に遡ることができる。元禄10年（1698）から「堂島の米市」が開かれ、新地周辺には大名屋敷をはじめ、茶屋、風呂屋、芝居小屋が許可され、繁栄した。その後、米市が発展し堂島が商人街となるに伴って、遊所は曽根崎川の川向かいにある曽根崎新地へと移動。曽根崎新地は遊女を置く茶屋を中心に、煮売屋、湯屋、風呂屋（蒸ぶろ）、芝居小屋、射的場、宿屋などが集まり、天保13年（1842）には日本初の公許の遊所地として賑わうようになった。そして明治45年（1912）、曽根崎川が埋め立てられ、堂島新地と曽根崎新地は現在の「北新地」へ。戦後は財界人の情報交換の場として栄え、夜の商工会議所とも呼ばれた。北新地で遊んでいると、お金に余裕があると見られ、銀行からも信用されていたとか。

Osaka Station (大阪駅 Ōsaka-eki) is a major railway station in the Umeda district of Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). It forms the city's main rail terminal in the north.
Although it is officially served by only the JR Kobe/Kyoto Lines (Tōkaidō Main Line) and the Osaka Loop Line, Osaka is the starting point of JR Takarazuka Line service, and serves as the terminal for trains bound for the San'in region via JR Takarazuka Line and the Hokuriku region via JR Kyoto Line, while offering connections to trains bound for Nara, Wakayama and Kansai International Airport via the Osaka Loop Line.

Osaka Station and Umeda Station, effectively part of the same complex, together constitute the busiest station in Western Japan, serving 2,343,727 passengers daily in 2005, and the fourth-busiest railway station in the world.
Osaka Station also houses a large terminal for overnight bus services to other cities in Japan, and until March 2013 also had a nearby freight terminal complex, Umeda Freight Terminal, owned by JR Freight.
Osaka (Japanese: 大阪市 Hepburn: Ōsaka-shi, commonly just 大阪, Ōsaka) is a designated city in the Kansai region of Japan. It is the capital city of Osaka Prefecture and the largest component of the Keihanshin Metropolitan Area, the second largest metropolitan area in Japan and among the largest in the world with over 19 million inhabitants. Osaka will host Expo 2025. The current mayor of Osaka is Ichiro Matsui.

夜の北新地本通りの様子です。金曜の夜でスーツ姿の仕事帰りの人が多かったです。私は今までに３回ほどしか北新地で飲んだことがありません。それも当時の会社の社長とのつきあいでです。それ以外は全く縁のない遠い世界となってしまいました。

Walking Tour in Osaka, Japan-Kitashinchi Osmo pocket 大阪
Kitashinchi is the one of the busiest area in Umeda area in Osaka Japan. There are many bars and restaurant, and this area is especially famous for hostess bars. I walked around 6pm on Sunday when most of shops close.
The atmosphere at night especially Friday night is the most interesting time of the visit.

Umeda Sky Building, Osaka, Japan
Umeda Sky Building (梅田スカイビル), part of New Umeda City, is one of Osaka's most recognizable icons and is the 12th tallest building in Osaka. The 40 story building comprises the Floating Garden Observatory which is a popular tourist attraction of Osaka.
Rising 40-stories (173m) in the air, you can get an excellent bird's eye view of the sprawling metropolis at the Floating Garden Observatory as well as the roof-top observatory. At the basement you may find a Showa Period themed restaurant mall.
This building, completed in 1993 can easily be accessed from Osaka Station and Umeda Station.

【自転車でヨナヨナ】(2) 大阪梅田・北新地 Kitashinchi Exploring Osaka by bicycle
夜の大阪・北新地を走ってみました。JR大阪駅の桜橋口(西口)から中央南口前を通り、大阪駅前第一ビルの横を通って北新地に行きます。一方通行の狭い道路にタクシーなど車の通行が多く、自転車で走るのにもひと苦労しました。しかし人通りは以前と比べ少なかったように思います。まだ時間が早かった（午後７時頃）せいかもしれません。
大阪の北新地は、東京の銀座や京都の祇園などと並んで日本を代表する高級飲食店街です。高級クラブ、ラウンジ、ホストクラブ、スナック、バー、小料理屋が中心。北から「永楽町通」「新地本通」「堂島上通」沿いに、数多くのお店と看板が立ち並びます。スーツ姿の男性が多く、大人の社交場という雰囲気が漂います。

「自転車でヨナヨナ」＝夜バージョン（夜な夜な）
車道を走行する時に備え、自転車には右側にバックミラーをつけています。車道走行時に車道の中央に寄ることがありますが、ミラーと目視ですぐ後ろに車がいないことを確認しています。大阪市内の広い車道を走る場合、左側に駐車している車両が頻繁にあり、2車線の追い越し車線にまで膨らまなければなりません。自転車に「自転車は車道を走れ」と強制するなら、その前に、左側に駐停車する車両を完全に無くす必要があります。
歩道走行時にスピードが非常に速く見えますが、これはやや広角のレンズと視点が低いことによるものです。実際の速度は見た目よりもずっと遅いです。また、歩道走行時など、歩行者に当たりそうに見えますが、実際は自転車から歩行者までの距離が十分にあります。大阪市の広めの道路の歩道はそのほとんどが自転車通行可ですので、歩道を歩行者に気をつけながら走行するのは問題ありません。基本的に歩道を通る場合は車道側を走らなければならないという規定がありますが、歩行者が車道側を歩いていることも多く、臨機応変に走るしかありません。
自転車に装着したカメラは比較的古いモデルです。フルHDで撮れますが夜になると画質が良くありません。良いカメラを付けたいですが、振動によって故障するリスクも高いですので、当分はこのカメラでいきたいと思います。

If you find the newly developed dining areas such as Osaka Station City and Grand Front Osaka a little too modern and sterile, a good alternative is the Kitashinchi entertainment district south of and within walking distance from Osaka Station, where there are numerous restaurants, bars and night clubs. Kitashinchi becomes lively after 18:00.
