This was the last day of EDP Kite Surf Pro Cascais, Guincho, Portugal - World Championship . The competition ended without last rounds, and no finals... the wind was not good enough to compete. All the KSP from different countries had a great time at Guincho, Portugal. They had two great days of exciting competition, June 3 and June 8, with fantastic wind...I am putting my photos slowly but surely when I have time on this link

I met Aeme at a hostel in Porto when I was putting this video together, and “Money” is the song he suggested for the video
Grande do Guincho beach is located between two rocky tips, the high tip and the tip of the fan, with a great length of sand, both in length and width.
With clear and crystal clear water, Grande do Guincho beach is considered one of the largest beaches in the country, with a high influx of vacationers, being part of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. It is also sought by surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers, where world championships of these same modalities are held.
The Sintra Mountains and the dunes provide an internationally recognized landscape setting. Due to the action of the wind, the beach faces south with the “Guincho-Cresmina” dune system of great geological dynamism. There are dunes of various types on this beach: the embryonic moving dunes, which represent the first states of dune vegetation; the white dunes, which are the closest sandy strands to the sea; as well as the gray dunes, which are fixed, stabilized and colonized by more or less dense perennial boulders and abundant carpets of lichen and moss.
On this beach you can see a volcanic chimney, consisting of an important outcrop of basaltic rock, exposed during low tide.

Francisco Lufinha inicia travessia Lisboa – Funchal em kitesurf
Após bater o primeiro recorde mundial da maior distância percorrida em Kitesurf sem paragens, Francisco Lufinha voltou a desafiar-se e no domingo, dia 5 de Julho, pelas 16h30 horas, lançou-se nas profundas águas do Oceano Atlântico, para ser o primeiro homem a conquistar a ligação marítima entre Lisboa e o Funchal, na modalidade de Kitesurf.
O arranque a partir do Cais das Colunas foi um sucesso. Centenas de apoiantes e curiosos juntaram-se no local para assistir à partida da travessia. Em pleno Rio Tejo, o ambiente foi ainda mais surpreendente com dezenas de barcos a acompanhar o kitesurfer nos primeiros momentos desta aventura.
O recorde mundial foi conquistado no dia 6 de julho mas seguiu a sua viagem e ao final da tarde do dia 7 de julho, com 47h37 parou devido ao cansaço com um novo recorde do Mundo:472 milhas náuticas (874km).
LISBON BY BIKE #4 From Lisbon To Guincho
Got some new camping gear (well, just a new tent) and wanted to test it out before my next adventure so I headed out to Guincho.
This was a two day mini adventure, riding the bike on a Saturday evening from Lisbon to Guincho, staying there a night at a camping site and returning next morning.
