Kobe Luminarie is an annual winter light-up held in memory of the victims of the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995. Now running for over 20 years, the event takes place in the vicinity of Motomachi Station on the JR Kobe Line starting at the Former Foreign Settlement and extending to Higashi Yuenchi Park.
A festival of light, which has been held in December every year since 1995 as a memorial and requiem of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and to pray for recovery of the town. It began eleven months after the Kobe Earthquake in 1995 with the hope to give courage and greatly inspire the people of Kobe. Because there was a strong desire for continuation after its conclusion, it became an annual event symbolizing the hope of Kobe citizens.
Geometric illuminations decorate the squares and streets, and during the festival a corridor of light called the Galleria runs through Nakamachi-dori street. In its heyday the festival attracted more than 5 million visitors but in recent years, due to energy-saving policies and a shortened festival period, it draws between 3 and 3.5 Million.
Kobe Luminarie is an Italian designed light festival. Luminarie is the plural form of Italian word luminaria that stands for Illumination with miniature bulbs.

Many places, most famous are in tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe and Osaka. Each of these have different theme and reasons.

兵庫県神戸市で開催している神戸ルミナリエは、1995年に発生した阪神・淡路大震災犠牲者の鎮魂の意を込めるとともに、都市の復興・再生への夢と希望を託して行われているイルミネーションです。
大震災のあった1995年から毎年欠かさず行われている神戸ルミナリエは今年で20年目を迎え、「神戸 夢と光」をテーマに開催、東日本大震災への影響を考え一部をLED化していましたが、今年は本来の白熱電球に戻しても開催となりました。
開催場所:兵庫県神戸市 旧外国人居留地および東遊園地
開催日程:2014年12月4日~12月15日

「神戸ルミナリエ」は、阪神・淡路大震災犠牲者への鎮魂の意を込めると共に、都市の復興・再生への夢と希望を託して、大震災の起こった平成7年の12月に初めて開催しました。以来、震災の記憶を後世に語り継ぐとともに神戸の希望を象徴する行事として多くの皆様に支えられ、神戸の冬の風物詩として定着し、昨年は約343万人もの来場者が訪れました。
開催趣旨 ： 阪神・淡路大震災の犠牲者への鎮魂と大震災の記憶を永く後世に語り継いでいくとともに、まちのさらなる魅力発信と神戸地域への集客を目的に開催する。

Kobe Luminarie Light Festival, Hyōgo Prefecture | The Real Japan | HD
Kobe Luminarie is an annual light festival held in Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, every December since 1995, to commemorate the Great Hanshin earthquake of that year.
(More than 6,400 people were killed as a result of the 1995 earthquake.)
The festival runs for around two weeks every evening.
Major streets in the area are closed to traffic during allowing pedestrians to fill the streets and enjoy the lights.
It is viewed by about 3-5 million people each year.

２０ｔｈ神戸ルミナリエ 1/2 Kobe Luminarie Japan Dec/06/2014
4K [Gopro] 2019神戸ルミナリエ KOBE Luminarie , Japan
令和最初のルミナリエに行ってきました。今回、GoProでイルミネーションを撮るのはほぼ初めてでしたので、そこら辺もテーマになっています。
撮影機材は2世代旧式のGoPro HERO6とKarmaGripを使用しています。
設定は4Kモード 60fps シャッター速度を1/60 その他は標準設定です。
・このGoProは4Kにすると手ブレ補正が効かなくなるのがわかっていましたのでKarmaGrip(ジンバル)を使用しています。KarmaGripがある程度、その威力を発揮してくれたと思いますが、人混みで撮りにくく、その威力を台無しにしている箇所が少しあります。それはどうにもなりませんでした。
・これからGoProを購入される方にご注意ですが、最新機種は手ブレ補正がかなり強化されているようですのでKarmaGripがお奨めかどうかはわかりません。
・以前、北新地のネオンを撮った時、フリッカー現象が酷かったので心配になり、イルミネーション撮影時に発生するGoProのフリッカー現象を検証している動画をいくつか観ましたが、50hz地域の東日本の方の動画ばかりであまり参考になりませんでした。唯一わかったのはシャッター速度を1/60固定にするくらい。まあ、結果的に心配するほどでもなく自動でもよかったかもしれません。
・肉眼ではちゃんと見えていてもGoProの液晶画面から見えるリミナリエは真っ白というのが冒頭の映像でわかると思いますが、ある程度近づいてからは正常になりました。ですから背の低い私ですと撮影角度が限られていてちょっと不満な点があります。シャッター速度を調整すればなんとかなったかもしれませんが、今度はフリッカー現象が恐くて何もできませんでした。これも最新機種ではどうかわかりませんのでこれから購入される方は各自お調べください。
・編集はPowerDirecter17を使用しています。最初はBGMを別でつけようかと思いましたが、会場で流れている音楽がすばらしくそのまま使うことにしました。大声のアナウンスや観客の会話の声が大きい箇所を、映像と音声を分離して音声だけをカットしてつなぎ合わせるという工夫をしています。ですので、よく聞くと映像は続いているのに音楽がおかしな感じになっていたりします。
