Kobe, Japan - Kobe Port Tower HD (2017)
Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi, Japanese: [koːꜜbe]) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bay and about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Keihanshin metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto.
The earliest written records regarding the region come from the Nihon Shoki, which describes the founding of the Ikuta Shrine by Empress Jingū in AD 201. For most of its history, the area was never a single political entity, even during the Tokugawa period, when the port was controlled directly by the Tokugawa shogunate. Kobe did not exist in its current form until its founding in 1889. Its name comes from kanbe (神戸), an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine. Kobe became one of Japan's 17 designated cities in 1956.
Kobe was one of the cities to open for trade with the West following the 1853 end of the policy of seclusion and has since been known as a cosmopolitan port city. While the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake diminished much of Kobe's prominence as a port city, it remains Japan's fourth busiest container port. Companies headquartered in Kobe include ASICS, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Kobe Steel, as well as over 100 international corporations with Asian or Japanese headquarters in the city such as Eli Lilly and Company, Procter & Gamble, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Nestlé. The city is the point of origin and namesake of Kobe beef, as well as the site of one of Japan's most famous hot spring resorts, Arima Onsen.
Best Things To Do In Kobe, Japan (+ day trips from Kobe)
From taking in the views from Kobe’s Port Tower and the ferris wheel, to exploring the old district of Kitano or getting lost in colourful streets of Chinatown, these are the top things to do in Kobe, Japan.
After my first trip to Japan last year, I was SO excited to be invited back to explore some more of the country. This time I was off to Kobe, a city around an hour west of the metropolis of Osaka.
So why go to Kobe, Japan? What is Kobe famous for? First up, the food. Kobe beef is reckoned to be some of the best beef in the world (more on that coming up).
What else? Well this year is a particularly big year for the city. The Rugby World Cup 2019 is taking place this autumn, and Kobe is one of 12 host cities. In fact, England’s second match against the USA is taking place at Kobe Misaki Stadium. I imagine the atmosphere in the city will be incredible!
So whether you’re heading to Kobe for the Rugby World Cup and looking for a few things to do between matches, or you’re planning a visit for your next holiday, it’s time to show you the best things to do in Kobe and the surrounding areas including Osaka, Himeji and Arima Onsen!

KOBE PORT TOWER | BEKOBE | Japan ! 2019
DescriptionKobe is a city on Osaka Bay in central Japan. It is known for its signature marbled beef and scenic setting of mountains framing the harbor. The Ikuta Shrine, dating to the 3rd century, is among Japan's oldest Shinto shrines. Antique cable cars connect Kobe to Mt. Rokko, which offers panoramic views over the port. Beyond the Mount Rokko hills are the outdoor hot springs of Arima Onsen.

Kobe Port Tower (Super Quick Tour)
The Kobe Port Tower is a very thin tower in Kobe, Japan. The video contains the elevator ride up, a quick walk around at the top, and the elevator ride back down.
PORT TOWER - EXPLORING KOBE
Today I left my room early in the morning and headed towards the Kobe harbour where I went to the top of the Port Tower.
Located just a 10 minute walk away from downtown Kobe, the Port Tower offers an incredible view of the city, the surrounding mountains and the wide open sea.
This spot is definitely worth a visit next time you’re in Kobe.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to leave them down below in the comment section. I’d be happy to answer them.

Kobe In A Day: What To Do And Eat In Kobe | Japan Travel Guide
1 day Japan travel itinerary guide on what to do and eat in Kobe. Kobe offers much much more than just Kobe Beef!
Kobe is under an hour away from Kyoto and Osaka, so it makes the perfect day trip as well.
Kobe is very well known for their famous Kobe Beef, however this city has much more to offer than just that. In this video let me show you how to travel around Kobe efficiently and visit the must see places in just one day.
1 day in Kobe is enough to see the main areas of the city, however if you want to do more activities like hiking, going to the onsen or more hands on cultural experiences then a few days would be better.
Also, If you have more days to spend here then I definitely recommend checking out more of the local areas and back streets!!!

Kobe, Japan - Kobe Port Tower Gashapon (2019)
The Kobe Port Tower (神戸ポートタワー Kōbe Pōto Tawā) is one of the landmarks in the port city of Kobe, Japan. The sightseeing tower was completed in 1963 and paused operation from late 2009 until April 28, 2010 for renovation. It locates in the Central District, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi, Japanese: [koːꜜbe]) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture.
Kobe did not exist in its current form until its founding in 1889. Its name comes from kanbe (神戸, an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine). Kobe became one of Japan's designated cities in 1956.
Kobe was one of the cities to open for trade with the West following the 1853 end of the policy of seclusion and has since been known as a cosmopolitan and nuclear-free zone port city. While the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake diminished much of Kobe's prominence as a port city, it remains Japan's fourth-busiest container port. Companies headquartered in Kobe include ASICS, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Kobe Steel, as well as over 100 international corporations with Asian or Japanese headquarters in the city, such as Eli Lilly and Company, Procter & Gamble, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Nestlé. The terms gashapon (ガシャポン) and gachapon (ガチャポン) refer to a variety of vending machine-dispensed capsule toys popular in Japan and elsewhere. Gashapon is onomatopoeic from the two sounds gasha (or gacha) for the hand-cranking action of a toy-vending machine, and pon for the toy capsule landing in the collection tray. Gashapon is used for both the machines themselves and the toys obtained from them. Popular gashapon manufacturers include Tomy, which uses the shortened term gacha (ガチャ gacha) for their capsule machines, and Kaiyodo. In the United States, Gashapon is a registered trademark of the Bandai Company,[1] and gashapon are generally referred to as blind box sets. The gashapon model has been adapted digitally into numerous gacha video games such as mobile phone games and massively multiplayer online games (MMOs).
