A trip to Kallskär-Kökar (Sep. 2007): Weather was awful for most part of the trip (heavy rain and storm). Boat left the island earlier than was planned due to coming storm and rising waves.

Aland Drone Flight: The Åland Islands, or Åland, is an autonomous region of Finland. Comprising around 6,700 islands, this Swedish-speaking archipelago is in the Baltic Sea. The capital, Mariehamn, on the main island of Fasta Åland, is known for its beaches and streets lined with 19th-century wooden townhouses, handicraft shops and cafes. Västerhamn, the towns western port, links Åland with Estonia, Sweden and mainland Finland. Västerhamn is home to the Åland Maritime Museum, with exhibits about the areas seafaring past, and the 4-masted sailing ship Pommern, which is moored beside the museum. Boatbuilding and crafts are on show in Sjökvarteret, the maritime quarter along Mariehamns eastern harbor. Kastelholm Castle, northeast of Mariehamn, dates back to the 14th century. Farther east are the ruins of Bomarsund, a Russian fortress destroyed in the Crimean War. Ferries from Grisslehamn, Sweden, land at Berghamn port on Eckerö Island, west of Fasta Åland. To the southeast, remote Kökar Island has the remains of a medieval Franciscan monastery. [wikipedia // Google]

PortMate Project – Safe and Resource Efficient Small Ports in Central Baltic Region
In the third and final video, PortMate project presents the amazing small ports and the wonderful surrounding landscapes of Sottunga (60°06,6’N, 020°40,9’E) and Havspaviljongen in Hellsö (59°57,0’N, 020°55,3’E), in the Åland Islands Archipelago.
Drone videos were filmed with DJI Inspire 2, in summer 2018.

Kökar on a bike
Kökar is an island municipality to the south-east of the Åland archipelago, Finland.
It is also one of the municipalities of Åland. It is reachable by boat from Långnäs on Åland or from Galtby with access to mainland Finland.
The municipality has a population of 246 (31 January 2012) and covers an area of 2,165.01 square kilometres (835.92 sq mi) of which 2,101.46 km2 (811.38 sq mi) is water. The population density is 3.87 inhabitants per square kilometre (10.0 /sq mi).
The municipality is unilingually Swedish. The natural reserve of Östra Långskär is located there. Other notable islands include Kyrkogårdsö.
Ulla-Lena Lundberg, a Finnish author, was born in Kökar in 1947.

I visited the Åland Islands in Finland in January and was blown away by Åland's beautiful landscape in winter. The water was frozen and Åland was covered in snow, and there was so much to do both outside and inside. It's definitely a special place and an easy place to go both from Stockholm and Helsinki - highly recommended!
