Fun-at-the-Ninja-Park-in-Japan
So Ryosuke and I went to the Iga Ninja Village in Mie Prefecture recently. It was basically a day of randomness and fake ninja poses with small children.
I looooooooved how friendly all the other tourists were - and how into ninja stuff the locals were. Wearing ninja costumes and parading around SHOULD have been incredibly embarrassing... but it wasn't, because everyone else was too. We got stopped half a dozen times by little old ladies who wanted to share their ninja knowledge with us or tell us the history of the town.
If you're interested in going, here's the (English) website:

Please enjoy this 45 minute assembly of video recorded during our tour of Japan, in June & July of 2015, from Sendai to Kyoto, Gifu to Tokyo... domo arigato, john Bertucci
Video is roughly composed of eight 'chapters'
1) first stop, Sendai
view from Reiko's back porch
the Ozu train shot...
then to a ryokan in Kyoto, Gion
and the gardens of Ryoan-ji
2) Kyoto continued...
respite from rain, Bukko-ji
corner of Shijo-dori & Yamato-oji
from street scenes to nature
& bus back downtown
3) last day in Kyoto, cafe Sagan
very cool place for dinner too
let camera run 5 minutes...
watch for the woman being followed
in the music of this space, then
4) in mountains above Nabari
guests of Rob & Yuka
house that floats, approved by cat
then Yōrō Falls, fountain of youth
meet living proof...
5) Yoro Park, Gifu, Sunday, windy
Site of Reversible Destiny
gift of Arakawa & Gins:
shed the illusion of 'normal' space
heal time in startled perception
6) Tokyo was overwhelming
tired, wet, three days...
found time in Shitamachi Museum
went to the METI tent w/Yoshi
met Yukiko from Futaba
7) more from Tokyo...
bridge of trains, Shimbashi
ceremonial Mount Fuji, Shitaya
waves in the garden at our ryokan
Kamakura & a stone for Ozu
8) the JR Pass, a magic carpet
to almost anywhere or when
like a painting that moves
in this case, from Nagoya
southeast, then north...

OLDEST FISH MARKET IN JAPAN - Tsukiji ft internationally ME
Tsukiji fish market is comprised of the inner and outer market. In this video, Angela and I check out the inner market where a lot of the wholesale to sushi restaurants nearby takes place. Tsukiji is one of the oldest and biggest fish markets in Japan. It is going to be moved to a new location in November of 2016, so be sure to check it out before hand to really get the historical feel of Tokyo's busiest fish market.
We went filming with the incredibly lovely Angela of the internationallyme channel. If you love informative videos about living in Japan, definitely go check her out.
