Kyoto Park in Kyiv
Time to share one of the most interesting facts about Kyiv that even I didn't know! Actually, this is a place I would like to recommend you to visit while you are in Kyiv in spring!
There is a Kyoto Park in Kyiv! Established as a sign of friendship between Kyiv and Kyoto in 1972! Moreover, it's situated on Kyoto street in Kyiv!
And guess what this park is famous for?! Sakura, of course! There are 360 sakura trees spread out for almost 1 km!
This has been even registered in the Book of Records of Ukraine!
You can also find traditional tori gate there, pagoda, stone lanterns, bridge, stream and pond... Only carps koi are missing there)
Amazing atmosphere that literally brought me back to Japan...
Kiev today; Kyoto Park 2017 Renovation
Kyoto Park is designed in a Japanese style.
Park is located in Desnyanskiy district of Kyiv. It extends along the Kyoto street and red line of subway between stations Chernihivska and Lisova.
The park was founded in 1972 as a sign of friendly relations immediately after the signing of the Cooperation and Development between the capital of Ukraine Kyiv and cultural capital of Japan - Kyoto. In honor of the park opening Kyoto City has presented the square multi-storey granite pagoda of 5 meters height - a worship in which usually buried relics, and which effects positively on the surrounding area. All the details and symbolism were borrowed from Japanese culture park. In the center of the park is a garden of stones. You can see the stone of honorary seat, stone of cave, guardian stone, lunar shadow stone.
You can see the different plants, such as the ancient pine, the Japanese maple. In September 3, 2011, together with members of the Japanese delegation the sakura alley was planted. The trees have been planted in two rows along walkways on the inside and stretched over a distance of 987 meters along the Brovary avenue and comprise 360 Dutch seedlings. The ceremony of a new Guinness record in the Park - the world's longest sakura alley had taking place in April 28, 2012
Thanks for watching!

Corruption park in Hryshko botanical garden in Kiev, UKRAINE | thekonst travel vlog
One of my favorite public spaces in Kiev, the M. Hryshko botanical garden, now features a corruption park, a EU-funded show to educate young people about corruption.
Ukraine ranks 130 out of 180 countries on corruption index and many people were raised in this system, used to bribes, thinking it’s normal. Without understanding how bad it’s really is there can be no support for anti-corruption reforms in the society, hence the park.
There is a tent shaped after the gold loaf of bread that was found in the house of the former president Yanukovich, and a confiscated $300k worth BMW. Lots of information about corruption in the tents, it’s free and worth visiting.

The Kiev metro is very similar to the metro in Moscow and St. Petersburg. But there are large areas in Kiev not serviced by the metro. Kiev is also serviced by buses, minibuses, trolleybuses, trams and taxis.
The least expensive way to get to Kiev center from the airport is via bus. There are also minibuses that serve the airport. And, of course, taxis. If you have reserved an apartment or hotel, they might also provide transportation between their apartment or hotel and the airport, usually for a fee.
Approximately 2 million people visit Kiev each year. This is a significant increase in tourism since Ukraine introduced a visa-free regime for EU-member states and USA.

In addition to parks, a zoo, and a circus, Kiev has some interesting streets which you might be interested in visiting:
—Bankova Street
This is a street in central Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, located in the Lypky neighborhood of the Pechersk District. Most of the street is pedestrianised and closed-off, as it houses the Presidential Administration of Ukraine and various official residences, notably the House with Chimaeras.
—Khreshchatyk
This is the main street of Kiev. The street has a length of 1.2 km. It stretches from the European Square (northeast) through the Maidan and to Bessarabska Square (southwest) where the Besarabsky Market is located. Along the street are located buildings of the Kiev City Administration which contains both the city's council and the state administration, the Main Post Office, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the State Committee of Television and Radio Broadcasting, the Central Department Store (TsUM), the Besarabka Market, the Ukrainian House, and others. During the weekends it is closed to traffic, becoming a pedestrian zone.
Kiev also has street food, typically found close to metro entrances. You can also find open air bazaars and farmers' markets, such as:
—Vladimirsky Rynok
—Demiivsky Rynok
—Bessarabsky Market
