Places to see in ( Salamanca - Spain ) La Purisima Church
La Purisima Church was built in the 17th century, on the initiative of Manuel de Fonseca y Zúñiga, to serve as a family pantheon as well as a convent for the seclusion of his daughter. The construction was carried out by Juan Gómez de Mora, Francisco de la Hoya and Antonio de Carassa.
The temple of La Purisima Church has a Latin-cross plan and is covered by barrel vaults. The transept, on the other hand, is crowned by a cupola that sits on a pendentive, which has a high drum and lantern. One of the most remarkable features of this church is the portico, with semicircular arches that rest on fluted pillasters.
The portal is crowned by a Vignola-style triangular pediment. The most remarkable feature of the interior is the high reredos, made by José de Ribera.

AMAZING PLACES_MISSION SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO_CALIFORNIA
Mission San Juan Capistrano was a Spanish mission in colonial Las Californias. Its ruins are located in present-day San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, southern California.
The mission was founded in 1776, by Spanish Catholics of the Franciscan Order. Named for Giovanni da Capistrano, a 15th-century theologian and warrior priest who resided in the Abruzzo region of Italy, San Juan Capistrano has the distinction of being home to the oldest building in California still in use, a chapel built in 1782. Known alternately as Serra's Chapel and Father Serra's Church, it is the only extant structure where it has been documented that Junipero Serra celebrated Mass. One of the best known of the Alta California missions, and one of the few missions to have actually been founded twice—others being Mission San Gabriel Arcángel and Mission La Purísima Concepción. The site was originally consecrated on October 30, 1775, by Fermín Lasuén, but was quickly abandoned due to unrest among the indigenous population in San Diego.
The success of the settlement's population is evident in its historical records. Prior to the arrival of the missionaries, some 550 indigenous Acjachemen peoples lived in this area of their homeland. By 1790, the number of Indian reductions had grown to 700 Mission Indians, and just six years later nearly 1,000 neophytes (recent converts) lived in or around the Mission compound. 1,649 baptisms were conducted that year alone, out of the total 4,639 people converted between 1776 and 1847.

Aviles in the Principality of Asturias - Spain -, preserves in its former case a historical artistic complex composed of several palaces, noble houses, churches, squares, streets and large parks, together with a cultural heritage in which the Museum of the Urban History and the Niemeyer Center.4 Of the various events that take place each year in the city, it is worth mentioning its Antroxu
and the Fiesta del Bollo or the Interceltic Festival of Avilés.5 It is located only 25 km from Gijón, 27 km from the capital, Oviedo and is connected by a wide network of highways, rail and bus, being one of the most important. main fishing and merchandise ports of Spain.
The famous sailor Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, Florida's first forerunner, gives his name to the city, which is also known as the Villa of the Adelantado de la Florida or, simply, Villa del Adelantado.11In 1891 the electric lighting is installed, being At that time, this bourgeois town was one of the first places in Spain to have this service. In 1893, Doctor Claudio Luanco created the Fiesta del Bollo, which continues to be celebrated with great popular roots. The twentieth century marks the industrial takeoff of Avilés, with successive enlargements of the port. Events such as the 1934 Revolution and the Civil War left their death trail in Avilés.
The Historical Center of Avilés, declared Historic Artistic Site, is considered as the medieval village of Asturias. Touring its quiet streets dotted with arcades, squares, churches and palaces, you can take a walk through history from the 12th century to the present, between spaces and buildings representative of the Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Modernist architectural styles. It is argued that Villa Avilesina would be able to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, such as Alcalá de Henares or Salamanca, because 'although Avilés does not have as many monuments as these two cities, its historic core has a greater extension and a better configuration. '
As an Asturian, I have visited Avilés on multiple occasions.
