Lake Compounce- Bristol Connecticut (2019) Park Footage
This is footage from the amazing Lake Compounce Amusement Park which is located in beautiful Bristol, Connecticut. We really had a great time here and this park has a nice feel to it. It is the oldest amusement park in the United States. It originally opened in 1846. They also have a water park called Crocodile Cove. They also have a classic wooden coaster built in 1927 called Wildcat.
My favorite coaster in the park was Boulder Dash. If you ever get a chance to go I say do it for sure.

Welcome to Lake Compounce, the oldest amusement park in the United States. This is Wildcat, built in 1927 it is very old but was just redone by GCI in 2018. Using the new Millennium Flyer Trains instead of PTC. The ride is 85ft tall going around 48mph! The newest, and only Mounted POV with the new GCI Trains! So enjoy a special POV!

Bear Creek Campground is located on the property of Lake Compounce, New England’s Family Theme and Water Park: lakecompounce.com.
Anna shows us around their 156 sites. Bear Creek offers Teepees, Cub Huts, 1 and 2 bedroom cabins in addition to tent and pull-through RV sites. There is a shuttle to take you to the theme park.

Using PTC trains this ride is known for its 5 golden tickets with its insane laterals and airtime. The main draw is how the ride is a mountain coaster because the whole ride is built on the side of a mountain! Being open since 2001 it has gained a reputation from enthusiasts as one of the best wooden coasters in the world. Enjoy this awesome POV of Boulder Dash!

Notes: Magnetic brakes were added to the Wildcat for the 2007.During the 2016/2017 off-season the Wildcat was fully retracked by Martin & Vleminckx. The 3x3x2 PTC trains were replaced at this time as well.

Lake Compounce is an amusement park located in Bristol, Connecticut, United States and a part of the neighboring town of Southington; the lake itself lies completely in Southington. Opened in 1846, it is the oldest continuously-operating amusement park in the United States.The amusement park covers 332 acres (1.3 km²) of land. The amusement park also has a beach and a waterpark which can be enjoyed by guests for no extra charge.
