Lake Eola Park is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando, with a sidewalk that circles the lake .9 miles in length, making it easy for visitors to keep track of their walking or running distances.
The park is affectionately considered one of Orlando's top 'natural' playgrounds – a pleasant downtown spot for picnics, exercise, paddle-boating or just a quick escape from the nearby high-rises.

Tour Of Lake Eola Park In Downtown Orlando Florida
Lake Eola Park is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando Florida. The park at the lake is affectionately considered as one of city top natural playgrounds.
The 23 acre site, located off East Washington Street, features an almost one mile long walk around the lake, as well as other attractions such as an event amphitheater, a children's playground etc. You can walk around the entire lake eola park. The location in Downtown Orlando Florida is perfect for exercising, reading a book, or just relaxing. The primary feature of the park is the lake and the jewel of the lake is the The Linton E. Allen Memorial Fountain, named after its creator.
It's joyful to sit in the park and watch the swans, or the people in the swan boats. Every Sunday morning is the farmers market. There's some great unique little gifts you can pick up without having to break the bank. There are local produce vendors, food trucks, crafts of all sorts, bake goods, cheese, local honey and much more. Saturday evenings in December they played movies at the amphitheater for free.

Explore Lake Eola Park with me in downtown Orlando - gorgeous place to spend an afternoon walking around the lake perimeter, watching the swans and wildlife, and enjoying the city scenery. Great free place to go in Central Florida, and there's free 2-hour parking on the east side of the park. Before heading back to Tampa, I had to get an ice cream cone from The Greenery Creamery a couple blocks away.
Lake Eola Park is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando. The sidewalk that circles the lake is .9 miles in length, making it easy for visitors to keep track of their walking or running distances. Other activities available to park visitors include renting swan-shaped paddle boats, feeding the live swans and other birds inhabiting the park, seeing a concert or a play in the Walt Disney Amphitheater, grabbing a bite to eat at Relax Grill on Lake Eola or relaxing amid beautiful flower beds and a spectacular view of Orlando’s skyline.

Lake Eola Fountain Show in Orlando, FL
This is a video of the newly refurbished Linton E Allen Memorial Fountain, better known as the Lake Eola Fountain. It was originally built by OUC (Orlando Utilities Company) and opened on October 5, 1957 which was Orlando's Centennial year so it was named the Centennial Fountain. It was later changed to Linton E Allen Memorial Fountain to honor the person that came up with the idea and the funding for the fountain. Unfortunately the fountain was struck in August 2009 that litterally fried all the electronics inside the fountain. The fountain did have an insurance policy on it so the repairs were covered but the Orlando City Council voted to upgrade this iconic symbol of Orlando. Thanks to the local residents and businesses of Orlando and the surrounding area we now have something beautiful to look at and listen to. There are nightly shows at 8:00 and 9:30 seven nights a week 365 days a year. The fountain now has a computer controlled system which allows the city to program the water jets and LED lights to different music, even seasonal displays. The refurbishment was done by Crystal Fountains Inc.

Join me for another walk (almost) all the way around Lake Eola. I'm still working out the kinks with my new GoPro Hero 8. Unfortunately it's dropping files and I'm working on a solution. I'm 99% sure it's a software glitch in the firmware and I'm hoping GoPro will be correcting this with a fix sooner than later. So frustrating!
