Easter long weekend camping at Tantangara dam. Fishing, kayaking, 4wdriving and an afternoon at the Adaminaby Easter fair. Great fun watching pie and watermelon eating competitions, trout throwing, market stalls and a charity firewood auctions. All round country fun in a beautiful location up in the Snowy Mountains of Australia.

Description
Wallaby / Kangaroo rescue middle of Lake Eucumbene
This wallaby was found halfway across Lake Eucumbene in the Australian Alps. I tried to get this full grown adult wallaby in the boat but it was much too heavy, so unfortunately I had to hold it by the tail and not let go.
Without intervention this wallaby would surely have died in the middle of the lake in the freezing conditions.
After saving it, I then gave it a good feed of grass and it hopped away over the hill.
The net was initially used to give me distance as these wallaby's can become very aggressive. My aim was to get it out of the water to help prevent hypothermia and death.

Fly Fishing Lake Eucumbene
Lake Eucumbene is shaping up to have a better fly fishing season than that of late 2008, which was fantastic. Rising water levels have covered ground that has not seen water for three years. Food items are numerous and many of the fish have put on great condition already. A couple of the standard size rainbows around at the moment (Oct 09) in this clip but all in great nick, and there will be bigger versions to be caught in coming months.
