Lake Hume (Albury 2019)
Lake Hume Christmas 2019. The haze in this video is smoke from the massive bush fires burning all around South East and East Australia. Very hot and dry, 37-41 degrees Celsius every day we were there. Lake Hume is massive, it has a shoreline of around 350km so there is plenty to see. We highly recommend visiting the Woolshed Falls (Beachworth) if you are in the area. Apart from the heat it was an enjoyable few days and we would love to go back when its a bit cooler to check out more of the bush and historical areas.

Helifly Albury - Trial Introductory Flight over Lake Hume
On Saturday 24th August 2019 I went flying in a helicopter for the first time. I booked a Trial Introductory Flight (TIF), which meant I got to take the controls for most of the flight. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend this to anyone if they get the chance.

HOLIDAYMAKERS became firefighters yesterday (28th) as fire threatened to engulf an amenities block at the Lake Hume Tourist Park.
They played garden hoses on the building after three large explosions sent acrid smoke billowing into the air.
Incident controller Ross Wilson, from Thurgoona Rural Fire Service brigade, said the fact the room had been locked and starved the fire of oxygen prevented a potential disaster.
“By the time we had arrived the flames were only just starting to get into the roof,” he said.
Geraldine Dwyer, from Moonee Ponds, snapped photos of the smoke billowing from the block from her camping spot not 50 metres away.
“It is really lucky it wasn’t yesterday when the park was full; thankfully most people left this morning,” she said.
