Morisset picnic area is great for a family picnic just watch out for the hungry roos, no shops in the area and could not find a toilet. worth the drive if you love kangaroos.This place was hard to get to so follow these instructions.
Morisset picnic area is in the Morisset precinct of Lake Macquarie State Conservation Area.
.Take the F3 exit at Mandalong Road
.Continue along Dora Street and turn right into Acacia Avenue
.Follow Acacia Avenue to the end through the Morisset Hospital grounds
.At the end of the road is Morisset picnic area

KELLYS FALLS AT STANWELL TOPS, NEW SOUTH WALES
Kellys Falls, originally called the Port Hacking River and Hacking Falls, is the main headwater with the adjacent Gills Creek Falls, of the Hacking River that runs through the Australian National heritage Listed Royal National Park. Kellys Falls section is actually part of the Garawarra State Conservation Area which is also on the National Heritage List.
This area is under threat from development adjacent to the Australian National Heritage Listed Royal National Park and Garrawarra State Conservation Area. If you want to help to save the unique area, please check out this site which includes a good history of the area at:

In October 2012 a section of State Conservation Area in Lake Macquarie was impacted by subsidence with greater than anticipated damage. The West Wallsend Colliery advised authorities however the incident only came to public attention when the Newcastle Herald reported on it in August 2013.
