I am new to drone photography and videography, but am having a lot of fun with my new DJI Mavic Air. I took all this footage where I like to hike/walk in Folsom, California down at the water. This is right along Folsom Boulevard and also Greenback Lane.

Part of the California Park system. This video was taken during a high river flow. Lake Natoma is an intermediate lake in between Nimbus Dam and Folsom Dam.
It is a recreational lake for rowing, kayaking, and swimming. Powerboats are not permitted. Lake Natoma is also home to the Sacramento State Aquatic Center, and regularly hosts West Coast College Rowing Championships.
Lake Natoma is currently over the historic Negro Bar area in Folsom, originally an African-American gold mining camp.

Rainbow trout fishing at Willow Creek, Lake Natoma, Folsom.
I caught this 20 rainbow biggin with a spinning rod and a pink plastic worm on an inflatable kayak. This was my first time trying it out and it was a blast. The trout here are huge! Fish on!

This town has been under water for 50 year. It has been partially exposed only twice that I know of. first time about 1977 the second time a couple of years ago. However I didn't have a quadcopter a couple of years to film it. So now it is exposed once again and I was able to get some footage of one particular site. I think it might have been a cattle ranch or dairy farm. You can also see the old palm tree stumps planted in a row to outline some landscaping. Their used to be 2500 people, hotels and saloons but im not sure if any of these rocks are those buildings. Maybe those are still under water. The town was mostly concentrated down further were the river naturally flows. Lake Natoma to Folsom Lake Bike Ride - Sunday, February 26, 2017
Eastern portion of the American River Bike Trail.
Biked from Hazel Avenue Park and Ride to Folsom Lake Beal's Point and back. Took the south fork of the Jedediah Smith Bike Trail, because the north side along Lake Natoma was still closed due to land slides.
Second ride of the year. Working on getting in shape and losing weight again.

Folsom, California
Folsom is a city in Sacramento County, California, United States. Folsom is most commonly known for its infamous Folsom Prison. The population was 76,305 at the 2015 census.
Folsom is named for Joseph Libbey Folsom who purchased Rancho Rio de los Americanos from the heirs of a San Francisco merchant William Alexander Leidesdorff, and laid out the town called Granite City, mostly occupied by gold miners seeking fortune in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Though few amassed a great deal of wealth, the city prospered due to Joseph Folsom's lobbying to get a railway to connect the town with Sacramento. Joseph died in 1855, and Granite City was later renamed to Folsom in his honor.
