Ozark National Forest | Richland Creek Wilderness Camping | Hiking to Twin Falls
This camping trip began with us leaving Little Rock, Arkansas and driving to Richland Creek Recreation wilderness in the Ozark National Forest. We set up camping outside of Richland Creek Recreation Area next to the Richland Creek Wilderness boundary line. After setting up camp we made black bean, mushroom, and spinach quesadillas. That even we went for a swim down Richland Creek further into the Ozark National Forest.
The next morning we woke up and made eggs with pastries. We then showed one of our DOME LIFE shirts, which can be picked up at . When you purchase any product, a portion of your purchase goes to clean up events on trail systems, campgrounds, and waterways in our national lands. Our next clean up will be at this location (Richland Creek Recreation Area). Go to our Facebook page (like and follow) so you can know when the date is posted for this event.
After that we hiked deep into Richland Creek Wilderness to Twin Falls. After hanging out there for a while we worked our way back where we showed other swimming holes and some amazing fossils.
When we got back to camp, we cleaned off in the creek. While doing so we got to see our first wild Arkansas ferret. For dinner we made pasta and went to bed. The next morning we drove back to Little Rock, Arkansas.

Exploring Arkansas July 2011
Little Missouri Falls, Lorance Creek Natural Area, Roth Prairie Natural Area, Cedar Falls Hike
Little Missouri Falls is located in one of the most scenic areas of the Ouachita National Forest in western Arkansas-in fact, it's a special area that almost became a national park. The Lorance Creek Natural Area between Little Rock and Pine Bluff is a dense swamp with a boardwalk which makes it quite ideal to explore without any difficulty. The Roth Prairie Natural Area in the heart of the Grand Prairie is a great example of what was once the vast tallgrass prairie. Hiking to one of the premier waterfalls in the state, Cedar Falls at Petit Jean Mountain State Park is a must do activity for anyone living in The Natural State.

Dispersed , primitive, camping in ouachita national forest with the RTT , s-1 v-4
This is a video of us exploring the roads and camping in the Ouachita National Forest and camping in the Smittybilt Overlander Rooftoptent . This is our first camping trip with this RTT. Camping in National Forest can be a challenge when using a ground tent. This Smittybilt Rooftoptent made it a whole lot easier. From the unlevel ground to the big rocks everywhere, this new tent made setting up camp a breeze. Being up off the ground had a comforting feeling. We stayed comfortable and dry. Even our dog enjoyed sleeping in the RTT. For the price I don't think you can beat this RTT. I started this journey on a small budget making what I could from what I had or on the cheap. I do foresee as time goes by upgrading a few things. For now I am able to get out there and enjoy myself. The camping spot availability opens up with the rooftoptent, over a ground tent. Enjoy the flowing streams and beautiful forest.
