LAOS BORDER: The Thai-Lao friendship bridge is the first bridge to have ever been built over the Mekong river between Laos and Thailand border.
The bridge was opened on April 8th, 1994, which was a gift from the Australian Government and approximately cost $42 Million AUD.
The bridge connects Vientiane Prefecture in Laos to Nongkhai Province in Thailand.

WOOOHOO! After 4 months, our travel to Vientiane, Laos is finally up on YouTube!
Our travel to Lao PDR, a peaceful yet vibrant young city, was definitely one for the books. Having the opportunity to experience Vientiane -- a city that isn't frequently travelled by tourists, was definitely one for the books. On top of the experience of getting to see another beautiful country, we were able to meet and perform alongside some of the most talented singers in Southeast Asia. We all came together as we celebrated the 50th anniversary of a partnership that transcends borders and nations -- the ASEAN.
Thank you Tito Carlo Orosa, the ASEAN branch in the Philippines, and to all the people in Vientiane who supported us and helped us out throughout our whole stay in the city. :)
Cheers to Sam for being so game to help me through my first vlog (then.) Hehe and of course to my Mama as well.

Lao Cooking Class in Vientiane, Laos
Always on a quest to connect with the local culture of the countries I visit, in Laos I decided to take a cooking class with Lao Experiences. In a lovely garden on the banks of the Mekong River, three Lao ladies walked me through the preparation of Mok Pa, fresh fish pounded with local spices and wrapped in steamed banana leaves; vegetables roasted on skewers, whole fish crusted in salt and roasted over hot coals, two types of dipping sauces, spicy papaya salad, and sticky rice and mangoes. After an amazing 4 weeks in Vietnam we jump on a plane and fly to the capital of Laos, Vientiane. With only a few days in the city (and country in general) we are on a mission to see the sights and eat as much local food as we can stomach!
We visit Pha That Luang, find an amazing spot for views over the city at the top of Patuxai (Victory Monument) and eat the classic local dish, larb.

It's our second day in Laos and we are back out in the city on the hunt for more coffee, food and sightseeing. We also attempt to find the riverfront, end up in a rather posh rooftop bar and then eat Laos styled pasta at fusion restaurant, 'The State of Pasta'.
