Vegas Balloon Rides - FULL VIDEO TOUR (Las Vegas, Nevada)
Taking a hot air balloon ride with Vegas Balloon Rides! This was in April 2017. It was a really fun expeirence and we did get a good amount of time in the air. Unfortunately, you have to get up really early for this, and you have to watch them unload everything and also help pack everything away afterwards. Your trip could get cancelled due to the weather (Which is rare in Las Vegas to be honest!)... That being said, we had a great time and as tradition goes, there was a champagne toast afterwards!

A hot air balloon is a lighter-than-air aircraft consisting of a bag, called an envelope, which contains heated air. Suspended beneath is a gondola or wicker basket (in some long-distance or high-altitude balloons, a capsule), which carries passengers and a source of heat, in most cases an open flame caused by burning liquid propane. The heated air inside the envelope makes it buoyant since it has a lower density than the colder air outside the envelope. As with all aircraft, hot air balloons cannot fly beyond the atmosphere. Unlike gas balloons, the envelope does not have to be sealed at the bottom, since the air near the bottom of the envelope is at the same pressure as the surrounding air. In modern sport balloons the envelope is generally made from nylon fabric and the inlet of the balloon (closest to the burner flame) is made from a fire resistant material such as Nomex. Modern balloons have been made in all kinds of shapes, such as rocket ships and the shapes of various commercial products, though the traditional shape is used for most non-commercial, and many commercial, applications.
The hot air balloon is the first successful human-carrying flight technology. The first untethered manned hot air balloon flight was performed by Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier and François Laurent d'Arlandes on November 21, 1783, in Paris, France, in a balloon created by the Montgolfier brothers. The first hot-air balloon flown in the Americas was launched from the Walnut Street Jail in Philadelphia on January 9, 1793 by the French aeronaut Jean Pierre Blanchard. Hot air balloons that can be propelled through the air rather than simply drifting with the wind are known as thermal airships.

Driving Downtown - Las Vegas 4K - USA
Driving Downtown - Las Vegas Nevada USA - Episode 47.
Starting Point: Las Vegas Boulevard .
Las Vegas, officially the City of Las Vegas and often known simply as Vegas, is the 28th-most populated city in the United States, the most populated city in the state of Nevada, and the county seat of Clark County. The city anchors the Las Vegas Valley metropolitan area and is the largest city within the greater Mojave Desert. Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort city known primarily for its gambling, shopping, fine dining, entertainment, and nightlife. It is the leading financial, commercial, and cultural center for Nevada.
The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its mega casino–hotels and associated activities. It is a top three destination in the United States for business conventions and a global leader in the hospitality industry, claiming more AAA Five Diamond hotels than any city in the world. Today, Las Vegas annually ranks as one of the world's most visited tourist destinations. The city's tolerance for numerous forms of adult entertainment earned it the title of Sin City, and has made Las Vegas a popular setting for literature, films, television programs, and music videos.
Las Vegas was settled in 1905 and officially incorporated in 1911. At the close of the 20th century, it was the most populated American city founded within that century (a similar distinction earned by Chicago in the 1800s). Population growth has accelerated since the 1960s, and between 1990 and 2000 the population nearly doubled, increasing by 85.2%. Rapid growth has continued into the 21st century, and according to a 2013 estimate, the population is 603,488 with a regional population of 2,027,828.
Las Vegas is often used to describe areas beyond official city limits—especially the areas on and near the Las Vegas Strip, which is actually located within the unincorporated communities of Paradise, Winchester, and Enterprise.
Las Vegas Strip
The Las Vegas Strip is a stretch of South Las Vegas Boulevard in Clark County, Nevada, known for its concentration of resort hotels and casinos. The Strip is approximately 4.2 miles (6.8 km) in length, located immediately south of the Las Vegas city limits in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester. However, the Strip is often referred to as being in Las Vegas. Most of the Strip has been designated an All-American Road, and is considered a scenic route at night. Many of the largest hotel, casino, and resort properties in the world are located on the Las Vegas Strip. Fourteen of the world's 25 largest hotels by room count are on the Strip, with a total of over 62,000 rooms.
One of the most visible aspects of Las Vegas' cityscape is its use of dramatic architecture and lights. The rapidly evolving skyline and constant modernization of hotels, casinos, restaurants, residential high-rises, and entertainment offerings on the Strip, have established it as one of the most popular destinations for tourists in the United States, and the world.

Las Vegas ATV Tours Nellis Dunes
Check out my ATV tour experience at Nellis Dunes, Las Vegas, with Las Vegas ATV Tours. Don’t let the slow-mo video fool you - these 4-wheelers are FAST. They can be operated in manual (5 up) or automatic (they just stick it in 3rd and leave it there). I only hit the top of 3rd gear maybe twice. They have enough power to break the rear end loose on demand.
Nellis Dunes is right by the Nellis Air Force Base so we were able to see some military aircraft flying above. The dunes were sandy and you could get stuck if you didn’t keep your speed up. The s-turns were so much fun and really push your abilities.
Pick-up was on time and drop-off was smooth. The driver and tour guides were friendly and fun. Safety is a top priority for them, and the equipment seemed well taken care of. A water break was taken about an hour in and lunch was provided at the end - a sub and water.
There is a Groupon for this company’s tour, but it’s only for the 1-hour ride and you have to upgrade for the full tour, so I suggest just calling and booking directly with them (Groupon leaves merchants with only 25% of the original revenue from their product/service, in case you didn’t know).
If you’re in Vegas, I urge you to get off the Strip and do this. You’re sure to have a good time, and it’s a nice change from the traditional Vegas activities. You can check out Las Vegas ATV Tours’ website here:
Pro-Tips:
1) You’re provided with a full face helmet, but you can choose to use your sunglasses or their goggles as eye protection. Choose the goggles - the sand will find a way past your sunglasses.
2) If you have a GoPro, find a helmet with a GoPro mount already installed. When mounting (whether on the helmet or on a chesty mount), aim slightly up since you’ll be leaning forward.
3) Passing is OK, so if you’re faster, you can move up, and if you’re slower, you can drop back.
Location/Details:
The Nellis Dunes are located about 20 minutes away from the Las Vegas strip right by the Nellis Air Force Base. Las Vegas ATV Tours provided free pick-up and drop-off from our hotel.

STUCK on Wheeler's Pass in Nevada
Today we set out to conquer Wheelers Pass off road right outside Las Vegas just after a few days of snowing on the pass! WE GOT STUCK!
The week before we tried to make the summit from the Cold Creek side, but was unable to make it up. We were moving along at a great pace until we come up to a stranded Toyota Tacoma, which eventually got us all stuck! However...lucky for us two guys named Jerry and Albert with Jeep Wranglers saved our butts and helped us turn around.

ATV Trail Ride to Devil's Throat NV (Nov 2017)
The wife and I took a ~70 mile (round trip) quad trail ride to see Devil's Throat (big sinkhole southeast of Mesquite NV). We tried to take as many off-the-beaten-path trails as possible. There were far more rocks than I was hoping to encounter...my swingarm skidplate took a pounding (YFZ450R quad)! So, I've decided to convert the wheels & tires to a Baja pre-runner configuration (+1 ground clearance all around).
