Hidden Forest Hike
The Hidden Forest Trail is located a little over an hour outside Las Vegas in the Desert Wildlife Refuge. This trail leads to an old cabin that was built in the late 1800's.
This hike is 10.2 miles there and back if you are hiking to the cabin. You can continue to Hayford Peak. This makes the hike a 14.6 mile hike.

Frenchman Mountain Summit Hike| Las Vegas Outdoor Activity | Rate It Rish
Frenchman Mountain Summit Hike Vlog & Review in Sunny Las Vegas, Nevada.
Frenchman mountain is a route less traveled than other hikes in Las Vegas area. If you are looking for a rewarding challenge, this is for you! If you are looking for a walk in the park, perhaps not.
This mountain has a false summit which made me want to turn back at one point. However if you push through it the views are breathtaking and well worth the effort.
When hiking be sure to take enough fluids and a snack. I drank 5.5 liters of fluid, which was increased due to the warm weather on the 27th September 2019. I would advise to avoid summer months due to the excess heat and remoteness of this hike.

About this video: In this video, Seez Santos and BrandonON go on to hike the Frenchman Mountain trailhead. Frenchman Mountain is located east of Las Vegas in the U.S. state of Nevada. Made up of rocks similar to those found on the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Frenchman Mountain formed when faulting elevated and tilted the rocks followed by erosion, giving it its sharp triangular profile. The mountain provides an example of the Great Unconformity with the tilted Paleozoic Tapeats Sandstone underlain by Paleoproterozoic Vishnu Schist, which is some of the oldest rock on the North American continent, having been created about two billion years ago. The Frenchman Mountain trail is one of the least known about hiking trails in Las Vegas. People often go to Red Rock Canyon or Mt Charleston to see a beautiful hiking trail. Often times it’s in your own backyard! if you're a local you might be wondering what are the best things to do in Las Vegas? I hope this video gives you an answer and opportunity to see the beauty and wonder that is away from the Las Vegas Strip

White Rock Summit, Red Rock Canyon NV (GoPro 4k)
The last four minutes of climbing to the far summit of the White Rock area in Red Rock Canyon NV 3/20/2015. This summit has my favorite views of the canyon and the entire Las Vegas valley out of any other area in the park. A beautiful activity for the vernal equinox (:
STUCK on Wheeler's Pass in Nevada
Today we set out to conquer Wheelers Pass off road right outside Las Vegas just after a few days of snowing on the pass! WE GOT STUCK!
The week before we tried to make the summit from the Cold Creek side, but was unable to make it up. We were moving along at a great pace until we come up to a stranded Toyota Tacoma, which eventually got us all stuck! However...lucky for us two guys named Jerry and Albert with Jeep Wranglers saved our butts and helped us turn around.

Details about Wheeler Pass -
Wheeler Peak is the tallest mountain in both the Snake Range and White Pine County, in Nevada, United States. Its summit elevation of 13,065 feet (3,982 m) makes it the second-tallest peak in Nevada, just behind Boundary Peak.[3] Wheeler Peak's topographic prominence of 7,563 feet (2,305 m) makes it the most topographically prominent peak in White Pine County and the second-most prominent peak in Nevada, just behind Mount Charleston.[4] The mountain is located in Great Basin National Park and was named for George Wheeler, leader of the Wheeler Survey of the late 19th century.
Winter Scenic drive to Mt Charleston in Las Vegas Nevada
Mt Charleston is 30 minutes drive from Las Vegas. A nice change from hot dry desert to alpine. With an average temperature of 20 to 30 degrees cooler than that of the surrounding Nevada desert and a short 35-mile drive from Las Vegas, Mount Charleston is the perfect day trip for nature enthusiasts visiting Sin City. Rising from the desertic landscape near the border of California, Mount Charleston is one of the highest elevations in Nevada and provides visitors with ample opportunities for hiking, skiing, picnicking, and horseback riding. Whether you plan to just stay a day or want to spend the weekend camping or enjoying the fine accommodations of the Mount Charleston resort, are down for a hiking trip or fancy a tandem skydiving adventure, there's plenty in store for visitors to the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
If you find yourself with a free day or weekend in Las Vegas, all you need to do is look to the snow-capped mountain to the northwest—visible nearly half the year from the Vegas strip—and you've found the perfect getaway from the chaos of the city.

Mary Jane Falls Hike Mt Charleston Nevada
A one hour drive from Las Vegas is Mount Charleston. Temperature drops roughly about 20 degrees and it's a great place to hike in the summer and fall. The 2.5 mile Mary Jane Falls Trail is one of the most popular hikes at Charleston. The views all around are spectacular. The Falls itself are nothing to brag about but the cave a little bit past the falls is awesome! Great place to chill and take in the beautiful views. If you ever come out to Las Vegas and you want to get a different change of scenery, I highly recommend coming here and doing this hike. For directions and Hiking info

Terrace Cayon in Red Rock Canyon - Las Vegas Nevada
Terrace Canyon is hardly traveled to, but is is a magical and peaceful place made so by great sights and the sounds of falling water. And part of the magic is due to the rarity of the moving water, which is found in the Spring with the snow melt. While I missed the peak water flow, this is still a magical place beaming with wildlife. Enjoy this great hike to Terrace Canyon!

Red Rock Canyon | Las Vegas | Scenic Drive & Hiking
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is a great get-a-way while visiting the Las Vegas area. You can hike, bike, rock climb and explore. It is about 30 minutes from the strip and is a must see!
I hiked the Calico area (first part of video) and the La Madre Springs area (second hike in video). The drone footage is from the back side of the park in Red Spring/Calico Basin.
The tarantula spider was walking across the entrance to the Visitor Center and was a popular distraction.
I highly recommend stopping at the visitor center before starting your adventure into the park. The center is full of interesting displays and information you do not want to miss. there is also a really nice gift shop.
I personally feel you should stop at the first parking area. This is the Calico hiking area. You could spend your entire day here. The rock formations are stunning and you can hike all over the area.
Our next stop was at the Willow Springs Picnic Area. This is where the trail head is to La Madre Springs as well as other destinations. We went to the Springs which was about a 2 mile hike in. It was a wide easy trail that is mostly uphill. This made the return hike much easier. The springs looked more like a small creek but it was still a good hike.
The road throughout the park is wide and easily accommodates both cars and bicyclists. If you cycle, its a pretty cool loop and would be a good workout.
In conclusion, I wish I spent more time here! I feel I missed so much. I will definitely return to Red Rock Canyon when I return to Nevada.
