Sportsman’s Adventures has been lucky to fish and film many episodes with Ralph and although he can catch anything that swims…we affectionately call him… the grouper king!!

Fishing Tarpon and Bonefish in Key Biscayne Florida
This week we're traveling all the way down to Key Biscayne in South Florida to fish for Tarpon and Bonefish with my good friends Rick Harris and Captin Carl Ball.
I grew up in the Florida panhandle and saltwater fishing is in my blood. When I was a kid we'd fish for redfish and speckled trout under the dock lights in the bay. Offshore fishing for grouper, red snapper, amberjack and other reef fish was also a ton of fun. But even thouth I lived in Florida for 25 years I never made it down to the florida keys, or even much south of Gainsville for that matter.
Since moving west I've developed a new perspective on the state. It truly is one of the most diverse and beautyfull places in the country. There's no shortage of hunting opportunities but the real attraction for me is the saltwater fishing.
On this trip we started out the morning flipping lures to big tarpon in biscayne bay. As you'll see in the video, once hooked, tarpon put on quite a show. After that we headed to the nearby flatts to stalk bonefish. Although I brought a flyrod along in hopes of cathing a bonfish on a fly, the wind made it nearly impossible to cast so we resorted to a spinning reel to get the lure in front of the bonefish.
Don't forget to subscribe to the channel. We're uploading a new video each week that features one of the following topics: bowhunting, fishing videos, bow building, survival skills, bushcraft, self reliance, primitive skills, primitive bows, hunting, camping, fishing, and a lot more!

All pictures by Casey Smith
Do you love fly fishing? Do you love saltwater fly fishing? Have you ever wanted to fly fish the Florida Keys but didn't know where to go or what kind of fish to catch there? Do you want to know if the upper Keys or the lower Keys is better for fly fishing? Do you wonder how hard it is to catch fish on the fly in the Florida Keys? Do you wonder how easy or hard it is to fly fish the Florida Keys without a boat and only wading? If so, this interview will answer these questions and more from one man's perspective who spent 4-6 hours per day, 7 days a week fly fishing in the Florida Keys for almost 2 months straight. He spent almost half the time each day on exploring and finding places to fly fish in the Keys. He also employed a charter boat company that showed him a successful and enjoyable day fly fishing in the Keys.

Tarpon And A Barracuda - How To Tie The Palomar Knot
Tarpon And A Barracuda - Palomar Knot.
Fought a nice Tarpon and doubled up with a Barracuda which happened to take my second bait as I was fighting the Tarpon.
The Palomar knot is a very basic and dependable knot that should be in everybody's arsenal. It is a quick tie and works great with hooks, swivels, and weights. This is a great knot for new anglers who need a knot that does not require a lot of fine dexterity.

Kingfishing In The Sport Fishing Capital Of The World - Islamorada, Florida
We were on the fishing docks at Whale Harbor in Islamorada, Florida in early February of 1997 looking to schedule a charter boat for the day when we encountered a couple that was wanting to go offshore fishing, but they were wanting another couple to split the cost of the trip that very day with them. It seemed like a good idea because we hadn't fished with any of these captains at Whale Harbor in the sport fishing capital of the world before, so we agreed to go with them. My wife, Lyn, and I grabbed a day bag out of the Tahoe and were welcomed aboard a ship called Skipper by Capt. Paul O'Donnell and off we went. We made a short stop to cast a throw net for some fresh ballyhoo that the mate was going to rig for us. From there, it appeared we were heading towards a well-known spot in the Keys called The Hump. We each caught several king mackerel or kingfish and kings as they are known in the Florida Keys. We had a great time and scheduled another trip with Paul about a week later. I have another short video on my channel of that trip, too.
Best Everglades Charter & Fishing Guide Florida (305) 431-1686
Everglades Florida Charter Fishing and Homestead Florida Fishing Charters
Everglades Charter Fishing can be a very relaxing experience, no matter if you're going for the day, weekend, or for your whole vacation. If you are interested in learning about fishing, it is important you know some fun tips that will keep you motivated to go out and enjoy this rewarding activity. Read this article to get the most out of your fishing trips.

There isn't anything more vital to fishing than using a sharp hook. A good fishing hook makes sure that the fish you catch stay on when you try to reel them in. Test your hooks often for sharpness and replace or maintain them as necessary.
Look for a spot where fish are congregating, and then cast your hook in a place upstream from that area. Your hook will drag past the fish. The natural looking motion of the water going downstream will be more apt to fool the fish into taking a bite. This technique is especially useful if fish are collected under a rock or other obstruction.
In order to minimize the chance of a serious accident, you should check the weather report before you go fishing. Taking a radio can be helpful as well, to make sure you aren't caught off guard by a sudden change in weather.
Understand a fish's migration pattern to fish downhill or uphill depending on the season. To stay ahead of fish, cast uphill during springtime. In the fall season, fish will move in the opposite direction, so fish downhill.
If you are an Everglades Charter Fishing novice, your best bet is to go bass fishing. Bass can be easier to lure than other types of fish. Although they are great for beginners, bass are also fun for the advanced because they like to put up an exciting fight.
If you are planning to follow a catch and release plan, bring a camera along so you can remember your catches before releasing them back to the wild. The fish gets to go on with its life, and you will be able to show your prize catch to everyone.
Find the deepest water possible. When you're riving fishing, look for deep water areas. Usually, fish can be found in these locations, especially when it is warm outside. You can also find them near ledges and around bigger rocks. When you have found a good location, make note of it for future fishing trips.
You should wet your hands prior to handling a fish. The will ensure that the fish does not end up with dried out skin. Wetting your hands is especially important for catch-and-release fishing, when you should take the most care in returning the fish safely to the water.
Be aware of the laws governing the area where you will be fishing. Specific areas may prohibit fishing at certain times of the day or only allow certain types of bait. If you're unaware, talk to a local governmental office.
It is important to understand that you need not keep every single fish that you catch. Smaller fish should generally be released, as should anything you catch that is more than what you will eat! If you do not remove many fish from the lake, it makes sure future seasons will have plenty of fish.
When Everglades Charter fishing for bass, many people prefer to use grubs that have a lighter color. The most popular grubs are white, gray, smokey, or yellow. Translucent grubs often contain iridescent pigments that reflect light and attract bass. If you're having a tough time in catching anything, try using grub that blends in with the water color.
Now you have some tricks and techniques to try on your next fishing trip. Whether it is a means of relaxation or sport, fishing has a lot to offer you. So to increase your fun and chances of success, be sure to remember the information that was just presented to you.
