To build the Medieval harbourside of Gammel Strand, Copenhagen, Denmark
From the Early Medieval period onwards, the harbourside of Copenhagen was constantly developed to provide a safe and profitable harbour for shipping and trade. By the 1400s, the harbourside had expanded southwards to Gammel Strand, and this area became the central area of the harbour in Copenhagen. At this location a new set of administrative public buildings focussed on trade were constructed, with the newly created land to the north, east and west developed into private housing for the elites. A curious mix of maritime industry, administration, elite private housing and the fishing industry existed side by side in a way that would not occur in modern times. The buildings were located on the southern border of Copenhagen, and maritime border to the Baltic Sea. The aim of this talk is to discuss the Late Medieval and Early Renaissance buildings uncovered in the Metro Cityring excavations in relation to the development and later use of the area. From a combination of structural evidence, artefactual remains and natural science evidence a picture emerges of how the structures were built, where the building materials were transported from, who would live there and how the buildings were used.

The Round Tower (Rundetårn) on Købmagergade - Copenhagen viewpoint - Copenhagen Attractions
We are at The Round Tower (Rundetårn) located on the Købmagergade walking street in the Old Town part of Copenhagen in Denmark. Rundetårn (or The Round Tower as it is called in English) is one of Copenhagen´s top tourist attractions and one of the best places to get a breathtaking 360 degree view of the City of Copenhagen (one of Copenhagen´s best, if not the best viewpoint of the city). If you continue walking down Købmagergade you will eventually reach Copenhagen´s most famous walking Street , Strøget (Stroget).
Wiki write about Rundetårn, The Rundetårn (English: Round Tower) is a 17th-century tower located in central Copenhagen, Denmark. One of the many architectural projects of Christian IV, it was built as an astronomical observatory. It is most noted for its equestrian staircase, a 7.5-turn helical corridor leading to the top, and for the expansive views it affords over Copenhagen.
The tower is part of the Trinitatis Complex which also provided the scholars of the time with a university chapel, the Trinitatis Church, and an academic library which was the first purpose-built facilities of the Copenhagen University Library which had been founded in 1482.
Spiral Walk
The Spiral walk leading to the top of the Round Tower is a unique piece of European architecture. This 209 meter long spiral walk winds 7 1/2 times around Rundtårns hollow core right up to the final stone stairs that lead the visitor ono the 360 degree viewing platform. This spiral walk is the buildings only connection between the tower and the library room (exhibition hall nowadays) ringer ceiling, tower and church.
Library Room
About halfway up the tower you will arrive at the Library room. The Library room is a huge 900 square meter hall which nowadays is used for exhibitions and other cultural events throughout the year. This is also where Rundetårn´s shop and café are located. Your admission ticket to the Round Tower also gives you (the visitor) access to the exhibition hall.
Bell Loft
The Ringer Ceiling or Bell Loft is located toward the top of The Round Tower.
The impressive original timber structure is still intact and visible on Ringer Ceiling of the Library Hall, where among other things you can see the big clock from 1731, and other things from the tower and church history.
The View
Rundetårn (The Round Tower) provides a spectacular 360 degree view of the City of Copenhagen. The viewing platform of the tower lies 34.8 meters above street level and from there
you can among other things look out over the old Latin Quarter and spot the city's most famous buildings.
Observatory
The Observatory which lies at the top of Rundetårn (The Round Tower) is Europe´s oldest functioning observatory. It was used by the University of Copenhagen until 1861, but today anyone can visit the observatory and study the stars in the sky and planets through the telescope.
Wiki writes about Copenhagen Denmark, Copenhagen is the capital and most populated city of Denmark, and second largest in Scandinavia, with an urban population of 1,246,611 and a metropolitan population of 1,975,361 (as of 1 April 2014). It is situated on the eastern coast of Zealand, 42 km northwest of Malmö, Sweden and 164 km northeast of Odense. The city stretches across parts of the island of Amager and also contains the enclave of Frederiksberg, a municipality in its own right.
According to a CNN International (2014) in an online article, Copenhagen is ranked as the number 1 healthiest city in the world to live, the heading being Where Happiness is the Truth.
This GoPro Hero3+ action cam footage is filmed in Copenhagen, Denmark on Købmagergade and inside and on top of the Round Tower (Rundetårn), one of Copenhagen´s most impressive places to visit to get a 360 degree view of the city.

SP34 HOTEL
Copenhagen, Denmark
Designer Morten Hedegaard has combined undiscovered mid-century Danish furniture with contemporary touches for Hotel SP34. Its location on historic Sankt Peders Straede puts it at the heart of Copenhagen's bohemian Latin Quarter. Brøchner Hotels (the group behind Hotel Danmark and Hotel Astoria) commissioned Hedegaard to oversee its renovation of the former Hotel Fox, now expanded into two adjacent townhouses to accommodate 118 rooms and suites as well as a penthouse with balcony views over the city's church spires and rooftops. Restaurants include Bar Moritz, named after a Spanish microbrewery, offering tapas and Basque dishes, American diner Cocks and Cows and Din Nye Ven - an authentic neighbourhood coffee house.
