Will Fyffe - Part 4 (I Belong To Glasgow)
Will Fyffe performs 'I Belong To Glasgow' - thanks to Jim Clark for doing the 'animation' on this video.
For some reason EMI claim copyright of the audio on this video ...
... and keep putting adverts on it. I've complained and the adverts have been removed for the moment while they consult with their lawyers. According to UK law, the audio is out of copyright -- this song was released in 1927.
Note there is another version of this song but Will's voice is not as good as on this original version. I'm sure that if you 'buy' this song, you wont get this version.

Edinburgh Night Run Part 5 Alone through Edinburgh and onto Fordel
VMCC Reivers Section. An all night run for motorcycles over 25 years old, from Newcastle upon Tyne to Edinburgh and back. The route uses as much of the old A1 as possible. This includes going through the town centres of Morpeth, Felton, Alnwick, Berwick, Haddington, Musselburgh and Edinburgh. The return journey follows the A7 out of Edinburgh to Dalkeith, then the A68 over the top of the Soutra, through Lauder, Jedburgh and over Carter Bar. From there it is down through Otterburn, Belsay, Ponteland and back to Newcastle.
After stopping to assist a fellow rider who had a puncture, just outside Haddington, I continued riding alone into Edinburgh. I headed for the meeting point in Regent Road, but found the main group of riders had already left, so made my way through the busy streets around the Royal Mile. Quite an experience, as taxis were flying about everywhere, and drunks were wandering into the road. I eventually navigated my way out of the city centre, and found the road towards Dalkeith, and the petrol stop at Fordel.

Wullie F. Frame “The Piper” on Edison Bell 6194 (1904) British music hall Scotland comic
Wullie F. Frame sings “The Piper” on Edison Bell 6194, recorded in early 1904.
Wullie F. Frame, who called himself “The Man You Know,” was born in Castle Bank, Partick, in 1848 or 1849--around the time of the famous Glasgow riots.
He worked in the family grocery business but made the transition to theater by 1867.
He became conductor of his local Presbyterian Church Choir in 1870 which he continued to do for some 10 years, during which time he also became a paper salesman.
In 1889 he was in London, performing in the top music halls to great acclaim. He helped pave the way for Harry Lauder.
He was considered to be the Scotch Dan Leno in certain quarters.
In 1898, he went on a six month tour to the USA and Canada, and although 65 years old when the Great War broke out in 1914, he joined the Seymour Hicks Concert Party and went to the front to entertain the troops in December of that fateful year.
He died in 1919, aged 71.
