Mat Helm : Candide Foundry
Situated along the River Seine in Paris, Candide's Foundry stood for three generations in the tradition of the lost wax process for sculpture cast in bronze. This foundry brought the clay sculpture of Rodin, Brancusi, and Giacometti to artistic completion in bronze. This scene shows the master patina artisan torching the Mat Helm sculpture entitled The Guardian; the first of a series of 7 bronze sculptures exhibited at the Laurence Esnol gallery in Paris and at Art Basel in Switzerland in 2009.
