She Told Him to Stop Paddle Battling Everyone!
Please comment who you thought got the better clips - me or Ian?
Ian and his brother came down to San Diego from LA, so we met at San Elijo to surf.
The waves were smaller than we had hoped for, but it was still a lot of fun.
Apparently Ian was being too aggressive, because that surfer girl asked me to tell him to stop paddle battling everyone haha.
(Sorry!)
My surf clips were filmed with a GoPro Hero 3 and Ho Stevie! mouth mount.

KUSI News: Junior Seau Tribute Live from Hansen Surfboards
ENCINITAS, Calif., May 29, 2012 -- Every year, Hansen Surfboards gets ready for the onslaught of kids in grades K-12 who regularly come into the store with their parents, showing their report cards and exchanging their good grades for vouchers they can redeem for merchandise. The retailer gave away nearly $94,000 in merchandise for good grades last year and is on track to give away even more this year.
Since the Goods for Grades program was created in October of 1996 to reward students from elementary through high school for their good grades, the retailer has given away a total of $486,937 as of May 22, 2012. The idea for the program was created by employee, Patty Bolton, and the Hansen family immediately loved the idea.
To give an example of how popular this program is, in July of last year alone, we redeemed $25,000 worth of merchandise for good grades, said Josh Hansen. Kids come from all over the U.S. to bring us their report cards. We get kids who used to live
in San Diego County and bring their final report cards to us on their family vacation. Others hear about the program from the Internet and stop by for a visit.
Since the program was created, it has grown rapidly. To provide a snapshot, here's
how the numbers have jumped since 2007:
$52,935.04 -- 2007 -- 2008 School Year
$71,169.45 -- 2008 -- 2009 School Year
$83,106.20 -- 2009 -- 2010 School Year
$93,764.67 -- 2010 -- 2011 School Year
We'd love to be able to redeem Goods for Grades online, but we don't have that option
right now. Kids have to bring in their report cards in person in order for us to give them merchandise in exchange for their good grades, added Hansen.
This summer, kids can redeem their current, final report card from June 1st through August 15th, 2012 for a voucher to use on a future purchase. Some rules and dates for redemption apply, so kids and parents need to sure and check if they aren't familiar with the program.
Founded in 1961, Hansen Surfboards is San Diego's largest surf shop. With more than 16,000 square feet of retail space, Hansen Surfboards offers something for everyone in the family. This year, Hansen Surfboards is celebrating 50 years of success as a single-store, family-owned and operated retail business. SoWal Junior Lifeguards in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida
It's a popular and important program with the goal of saving lives. And with 26 miles of beach and lifeguards stationed at only eight public beach accesses, SoWal Beach Safety Director Gary Wise knows there are many long stretches of beach that go unguarded.
However, through the development of the Junior Lifeguard Program, participants are learning lifesaving skills that may put more people on the beach with lifeguarding skills.
The students learn about the beach environment, including wave formation, how to identify a rip current and what to do if you are caught in a rip current. The program provides training in water rescue techniques, first aid and CPR. Additional activities include kayaking, surfing and boogie boarding.
Whether they become lifeguards or not, Wise believes these youngsters will have knowledge about rip currents and the beach safety warning flag system and will be better able to advise beachgoers when it's not safe to enter the water.
The Junior Lifeguard Program is for boys and girls ages 9 to 15. Wise and South Walton Fire District's Professional Lifeguards supervise the program.

Epic Heat at the 2014 Santa Surfing Contest
2014 Surfing Santa Comp was in full swing on a sunny November Saturday. 2-3 foot waves on tap for the event and a family vibe.
The groms in this heat were showcasing some of today's cutting edge surfing maneuvers with ease. These groms tear up 1-3 foot glassy waves in some shallow sections. Weaving through scattered rocks at the shore looks easy.
Funny Groms Getting Loose at High-Tide. Groms at Salt Creek take a break from competition and rip in a large puddle of water trapped in the sand from a dropping high-tide during the 2014 Surfing Santa Competition.
The groms build a ramp, grab a sponge (bodyboard), run full speed and leap. Gliding across the thin sheet of water, the groms hit a man-made sand jump and catch air.
Surf kids go ballistic. Epic childhood memories and classic surfing lifestyle.
The Surfing Santa Competition helps to raise money for Surfers Healing. Surfers Healing is an organization that helps to teach kids with autism how to surf. Izzy Paskowitz is one of the organizations' founders.
