We were lucky to experience the magnificent sight of Mount Lenin in Kyrgyzstan together with Eithne Treanor. Eithne is a well-known professional Irish moderator based in Dubai. Inspired by the breathtaking backdrop, she gave us a brief introduction to the beautiful region.
Between the green hills with hospitable people, there are numerous possibilities to spend the holidays. Sporty and well-trained people can also try to climb up to 7100 m high peak Lenin. But, excellent knowledge of the mountains and the appropriate mountaineering equipment are compulsory.
Otherwise, you can explore the country on foot, by bike or on horseback.

Wir hatten das Glück den großartigen Anblick des Mount Lenin in Kirgisistan zusammen mit Eithne Treanor zu erleben. Eithne ist eine bekannte irische Moderatorin mit Sitz in Dubai. Inspiriert von der atemberaubenden Kulisse gab sie uns eine kurze Einführung in die wunderschöne Region.
Zwischen den grünen Hügeln mit gastfreundlichen Menschen bieten sich zahlreiche Möglichkeiten den Urlaub zu verbringen. Sportlich gut trainierte Menschen können auch den Aufstieg zum über 7100 m hohen Pik Lenin wagen. Exzellente Kenntnisse über die Berge und entsprechende Ausrüstung sind dabei allerdings Pflicht.
Ansonsten kann man zu Fuß, mit dem Rad oder zu Pferd das Land zu erkunden.

Leaving #Osh behind after the first day of our Pamir #roadtrip (see our Day 1 Video), we spent the night in the #yurt at the Lenin Peak Yurt #Camp and went #hiking to a viewpoint from which where we could admire the stunning landscape of the snow-covered #LeninPeak, Lenin Peak Base Camp, and the Alay Valley #mountain range, as well as turquoise colors of the numerous mountain lakes including the beautiful Tulpar Kol lake.
We then crossed the Kyrgyz and Tajik #borders, passing the 14,042 ft (4,280 m) Kyzyl Art #Pass that leads to the #Pamir Plateau, and reaching the #KarakulLake.

Ojos del Salado again? ( I thought: why not go higher and harder? But it wasn't supposed to be... Too late in the season. ABC was being taken down already. Everybody in my group had diarrhoea. Not fully recovered and -20° C in camp 1? Nope. Went down on my own. Maybe again some time but earlier in the year...
Den Ojos del Salado ( nochmal versuchen? Warum nicht direkt schwieriger und höher? Leider hat es nicht sein sollen. Zu spät in der Saison. ABC wurde schon abgebaut. Kälte und Wind. Alle in meiner Gruppe hatten mit Brech-Durchfall zu kämpfen. Geschwächt bei -20° C in Camp 1? Nö. Bin alleine wieder abgestiegen. Vielleicht irgendwann nochmal früher im Jahr...
