In the spring of 2016, Ghent will be a new, dynamic and interactive city festival richer with the Ghent Floralies. The Arts Quarter - the Bijloke site, the Leopold Barracks, Sint- Pietersplein and the Citadel Park - will form the setting for a 10-day bustling flower and plant festival with a magical world of flowers and plants, floral art installations and sensational, inspirational gardens. Visitors will be able to do more than just look and admire; they will have an opportunity to experience and take part in interactive and participative workshops.

Last week I visited Floraliën in Ghent, which is basically a 10-day flower & plant festival in the city center of Ghent. Walkie Talkie invited me together with some other bloggers to discover this festival. On 4 different locations you could find the prettiest of flowers and plants. I had a blast, if you enjoy pretty plants, flowers and architecture then you definitely will enjoy yourself as well. FLORALIËN GENT 2016 – BLOEMEN & PLANTEN IN DIALOOG MET UNIEKE STADSLOCATIES
Ontdek in de lente van 2016 een nieuw, bruisend stadsfestival in het Gentse Kunstenkwartier.
Laat je verrassen door een magische wereld van bloemen & planten, met boeiende inspiratietuinen, monumentale bloemencreaties, adembenemende kunstinstallaties en de niéuwste trends.
De allereerste bloemen- en plantententoonstelling vond plaats in 1809, in een Gentse herberg, en maakte sindsdien een spectaculaire groei en evolutie door. In 2016 verlaten de Floraliën de expohallen van Flanders Expo en keren ze terug naar de stad.
