Gold Rush Skagway
Skagway, at the head of the White Pass Trail, was founded by a former steamboat captain named William Moore. His small homestead was inundated with some 10,000 transient residents struggling to get their required year's worth of gear and supplies over the Coast Range and down the Yukon River headwaters at lakes Lindeman and Bennett. Dyea, three miles away at the head of Taiya Inlet, experienced the same frantic boomtown activity as goldseekers poured ashore and picked their way up the Chilkoot Trail into Canada.

Abridged Trail of Dead Horses (story by Paul A.L. Hall)
The Klondike gold rush had a side effect in 1955 that changed the course of history of the entire world: Railroad built with gold invented containers (the shipping container called unitized freight and the first container ship the Frank Brown). Compared to Skagway, Alaska, the Roman Empire hardly made a dent. Rome tried to pack that into the shack but Skag couldn't wait to rate the crate. ull 1/2 2 get used to the vernacular in this dissertation; it's twitterspeak. the freak in the neak is ultrasleek. u peak. it relates to the newer aberrated human brain in the online users as the human mind adapts internet browsing. we bout2become like row mens and fellers/axing hew mens. Gold rush, 1898. Miners are the ones that push the horses over the cliffs; Jack London sees it and is the first one to call it The Trail of Dead Horses. The intelligentsia comes from all over the United States to mine the gold -- there is none left, it seems. But they find gold in literature and poetry. -- Brackett widens the path: intention is to charge a toll. Violence erupts. The railroad gets financing from England, they buy the right of way. -- World War Two (WW II) saves the train from bankruptcy because the Japanese invade the Aleutian Islands also the first uranium is brought from Canada for the first atomic bombs used against Japan... -- THEN: the railroad line (White Pass and Yukon Rail Road) president, Frank Brown (1955) invents the SHIPPING CONTAINER (containers; unitized freight). The container changes the course of history of the world: International shipping container COMMERCE BECOMES the Trail of Dead Horses.
