Notes: For those on the boat who asked about this video: Sorry for the delay; it's been a busy summer.
Yes, I know that I should have used manual focusing with the camera, but I had just bought the camera the afternoon before the event and I tried, but failed, to change the settings while shooting when I realized the camera was hunting too much for focus. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

July 4, 1976 - Christmas Lake Bicentennial Parade
In 1976, the Emmer family initiated a new way of participating in the annual Fourth of July Parade on Christmas Lake. Instead of decorating a boat and processing around the lake, they decorated their dock and raft and conducted an assembly / pageant / skit. For their first entry, they made light of the proceedings by dressing up as secret judges of this august event.
USCGC Hamilton, WMSL 753, Builder's Sea Trials
The 4th National Securcurity Cutter, also known as the Legend Class cutters, WMSL 753, USCGC Hamilton, underwent very successful builder's sea trials in the Gulf of Mexico in early July 2014, out pof Pascagoula, Mississippi.
Hamilton is the fourth of eight planned National Security Cutters and the first to be home ported on the East Coast. At 418 feet and 4,500 tons, her class is designed to be the flagship of the U.S. Coast Guard's fleet, capable of executing the most challenging maritime security missions including supporting the mission requirements of U.S. combatant commanders.
The fifth National Security Cutter, James, and sixth, Munro, are currently in production at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula. The James is scheduled to be christened on August 16, 2014 and will ultimately be home ported in Charleston, South Carolina with Hamilton. Fabrication. The production contract for the seventh NSC, Kimball, was awarded to Huntington Ingalls Industries on March 31, 2014.
The largest and most technologically advanced of the Coast Guard's newest classes of cutters, the NSCs replace the aging 378-foot High Endurance Cutters, which have served since the 1960s. Compared to legacy cutters, the NSCs' design provides better sea-keeping and higher sustained transit speeds, greater endurance and range, and the ability to launch and recover small boats from astern, as well as aviation support facilities and a flight deck for helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles
Liberty Weekend 1986
The Parade of ships during Liberty Weekend in 1986 was amazing! The QE2, Amerikanis, and the Galileo cruise ships were in the harbor as well as the battleship Iowa which was the platform for President Reagan to make a speech and officially light the Statue of Liberty's newly updated and refurbished torch. My family was there for this great event and my brother and I happen to wander in the background of an interview that was LIVE on the air nationally.
