Hello guys! I'm an American girl named Nwando. Welcome to my Sarajevo vlog / diary. I hope this Sarajevo vlog can help guide your travel!
If you're looking for the best things to do in Sarajevo city center, I think this video shows some of it!
And the last thing I want to say is... because everyone asks me: there is no problem being black in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I have experienced ZERO racism in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Balkans is the most friendly place I have ever traveled to and a traveler being black in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not an issue AT ALL.

SARAJEVO 'Where East Meets West' ► Bosnia Travel Vlog
Join me, Vivi, in my trip around the world! This 'episode' I explore the city of Sarajevo in Bosnia & Herzegovina
Museums I recommend-
Gallery 11/07/95
This museum hosts a collection of art, photographs, documentaries and videos about the war and genocides in Bosnia & Herzegovina , particularly focusing on the Srebrenica massacre.I found it to be moving and emotional, and would highly recommend, especially for anyone interested in art and photography.
Museum of Crimes Against Humanity and Genocide
This museum documents the war in Bosnia & Herzegovina through personal items with written statements alongside them, documentaries & interviews, diagrams, dioramas and weapons used in the war. If you only have time to visit one museum, I recommend to visit this one as it has such a vast collection and gets into great detail about the war, however I would dedicate between 2-4 hours there as there is a lot to read and watch. It is also incredibly emotional to visit but your ticket gives you entry for the day, so if you get overwhelmed you can go for a walk and come back later in that day.
War Childhood Museum
The museum presents the experiences of children who lived through the war in Bosnia, told through objects, video testimonies, and excerpts from oral histories. It's hard to imagine how a siege and war affects a child but this museum does an amazing job at describing how it impacted so many children, as shown through their personal letters and objects. Particularly interesting was a collection of the humanitarian aid food tins/packages one child collected during the war.
Also shown;
The Sarajevo Roses
A number of craters left by fatal mortar strikes have been filled with red resin to remember those lost during the Siege of Sarajevo.
The Eternal Flame
The Eternal flame is a memorial to the military and civilian victims of the Second World War in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The flames never stop burning which makes this monument a unique piece of art, idea and dedication.
I stayed at Hostel Franz Ferdinand, and would highly reccomend, it was clean, comfortable and had awesome staff working there! :)

1 Day in Mostar ► Bosnia & Herzegovina Travel Vlog
Join me, Vivi, in my trip around the world! This 'episode' I spend one day and night in Mostar in Bosnia & Herzegovina!
(Life has gotten in the way of editing, I filmed it around June 2018. But enjoy anyway, it's all still relevant I promise!)
In this episode I visit Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina!
I took the train from Sarajevo, tickets can only be purchased at the train station so be sure to arrive in time to buy them.
I stayed at Hostel Balkaneros and took the day tour offered by the hostel. We visited an abandoned aircraft hanger, Blagaj Monastery, Pocitelj, Kravice Falls and Fortica lookout.
Afterwards I joined a few guests into the old town to explore and we had a few drinks at Alibaba, a pretty cool club in a cave!
If you enjoyed this video, don't forget to like and subscribe for more to come (I still have quite a few videos to edit!)

David’s Been Here takes you to Bosnia and Herzegovina to discover what to see and do in the beautiful city of Mostar. The city is well known in the Balkans for its impressive Ottoman-era architecture and laid-back atmosphere. When there aren’t tourists, the old part of the city is ideal for strolling, shopping, and sipping coffee at a local kafana (coffee shop).
David and his friend Sasha spend 2 days exploring Mostar. Their first stop is also the most popular attraction in town – the 16th century Stari Most Bridge (means “Old Bridge”). Sasha explains a little bit about Stari Most’s history and how you can watch the world-famous Mostari Dive Club members do the death-defying jump into the freezing Neretva River below.
David and Sasha then make a quick stop at the Crooked Bridge, which was used as a trial run before the Ottomans built Stari Most. Afterwards David is able to capture two different jumps off Stari Most, which is exciting since tourists don’t always scrounge up enough to pay the divers the 25-euro fee to jump for the crowd. It may seem fun and games, but it is actually quite dangerous! Sasha explains that anyone can jump but they must first get training from a member of the dive club.
Then onto the Biscevica House, a beautiful 17th century Turkish home that holds a great deal of folk art and features traditional architecture. It was built in 1637 and has been in the same family for the past 4 generations. The most intriguing architectural feature of the Biscevica House is the sitting room supported by only 2 exterior pillars. Biscevica House is a museum, so anyone can visit. Other beautiful features include the hand-carved wood and copper works.
Onto the next stop, which is the Muslibegovic House, another 17th century Turkish house that currently serves as a museum/ hotel. In 2010, Expedia.com readers voted the Muslibegovic House 8th best hotel in the world.
David then heads to Koski-Mehmed Pasha Mosque to go up to the top of its minaret for bird’s eye views of Mostar and the iconic Stari Most Bridge. Sasha then takes David to another beautiful building in Mostar, the Karadjoz Bey Mosque. It dates back to 1556 and was built by the Ottomans. This is actually one of the largest Mosques in the country.
We hope you enjoyed David’s suggestions for what to see and do in Mostar.
