????️Los Angeles in 1 Day
The Lisbon Photowalk is the third stop of the Europe Photowalk series, which began in Madrid and continued to Seville, Spain. Next and final stop: Portugal's Porto. ????
The #Photowalks series is all about bringing viewers to cool places, usually in the Southern California area in search of the best photo spots to light up your social media, and to show how, when and where to get them.
Past Photowalk episodes include visits to Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Balboa Island, the Griffith Observatory and Venice Beach. We went outside the area to trek to Pismo Beach, a road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Tokyo and Kauai.

Photography in Lisbon, Portugal
Our trip to Porto was ultra short. I was hoping to have a bit more time, but between missing trains and Erin having to catch a flight out of Lisbon today, there probably wasn't even enough time for a proper look at Porto. But, alas, it was still a fun little trip.
On this episode, we make the return journey back to Lisbon via the train from Porto. Then, once we arrive in the city, and are greeted by some serious traffic, we get back to the Hub New Lisbon Hostel. After getting settled quickly, we made our way up to the castle above Lisbon where I hoped to photograph sunset and the blue hour. Unfortunately for me, we got kicked out of the castle before I could really do much photography.
Tomorrow we'll be leaving Lisbon and off on new adventures.

BELEM TOWER in Lisbon | Travel Photography #06
Did you ever see a PINK STREET? That's one of the many interesting things you can find in Lisbon!
Of course that place was on Irina's must-visit list, so we headed there in the late morning to shoot some street portraiture for her blog. ????
Definitely an interesting location, although it was pretty dirty (and noisy); I spent several hours in post to clean up the street and all the sorrounding area.
I love trying local food, but after some days I always start to miss Italian food.
Gladly we found an italian restaurant (ran by italians), where we had a really amazing pizza. ????
Anyway, this should be about travel photography, not travel food :D Let's get back to the business. ????
After a bit of relax we were that close to skip the sunset shooting, as the weather has been really gloomy for the whole day ☁️
As it was one of the last days in Lisbon I thought it was worth to try. I am so glad I did!
We rushed on a Uber to the location, and we arrived when the sunset was going on already ????(this usually never happens with me as I always arrive way ahead to the designated location).
I took out my camera, mounted everything, quickly set a composition and started shooting some long exposures.
As you can imagine the sunset lasted for only a few minutes, but I am so grateful to have been ready to capture this beautiful scene!

Travel Photography in Lisbon
We arrived from Paris to Lisbon. Portugal after a travel day that was a bit longer than it seemed like it should be. We booked a flight to Lisbon from BVA airport in Paris, and didn't realize that it's a mission to get there. However, we made it in plenty of time despite our lack of planning.
After the quick flight, we landed in Portugal, and were greeted with a beautiful welcome to Lisbon. The city is so beautiful.
In the late evening, we finally pulled ourselves from some work to explore the city, get some drinks, and food. It feels so good to be back in Portugal, and I'm stoked to explore Lisbon a little bit more in the coming days.

Stunning Lisbon - A Photographer's Dream City
I recently had the chance to visit Lisbon while giving a couple of presentations at WebSummit. Everyone that had been there had told me what a great place it was, so I took an afternoon to walk around the city filming with my iPhone.
Have you been? What did you think? (And let me know in the comments if you liked this video.)
BTW - the iPhone XS Max is a videographer's dream camera. It's much less disruptive to people that are in your scenes than a full DSLR. I used it on a FreeFly Movi gimbal. I also carried around my Sony A7r III with a few lenses, but hardly used it.

24h Shooting in LISBON | Travel Photography #05
After exploring Porto it's time to get a train and reach Portugal's capital city: Lisbon!????????
In the 1st part of the day I'm going to take several shots of Irina, as we found a truly lovely alley just next to the National Pantheon of Santa Engrácia, which was perfect for some street portraiture.????
Then it's finally gonna be time for me to shoot the 1st blue hour in Lisbon! I decided to capture a view from above of the city, so we went up to Belvedere of Our Lady of the Mount and waited for the sunset.???? When the light was right, I got the image that I had in mind: the city with the incredible 25th April Bridge in the distance.
The sunset was beautiful (as you can see from the picture with the plane & the sun), although the wind coming from the ocean was blowing really strongly!
As for the timelapse, gladly Irina let me use her tripod, otherwise the tiny GorillaPod wouldn't have resisted ????

Our visit Lisbon travel guide covers some of the top attractions including the best in arts, entertainment, museums, nightlife and restaurants. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities that you won't find in your typical tourism brochure or Lisbon city guide.
20 things to do in Lisbon, Portugal | Top Attractions Travel Guide:
Our first stop of the day was Sao Jorge Castle, which is an old Moorish fortification that sits on a hill overlooking Lisbon and the Tagus River. You can get some nice panoramic views of the city from here, and they also have peacocks roaming the grounds.
Miradouro das Portas do Sol is one of the many look out points in Lisbon that offers postcard-perfect views of the city. This particular terrace overlooks the Alfama district and it is always popular with tourists.
Carmo is a mediaeval convent that was ruined during the 1755 earthquake, and today it is used as an archaeological museum. It's a strange feeling walking down the ruined nave of the church and seeing blue skies above your head, but that's exactly what makes it worth a visit.
Another place to visit is Belem Tower. The tower was built on the banks of the Tagus River, and it was meant to act as both a defense system and a ceremonial gateway into Lisbon.
The Jeronimos Monastery is one of the most visited sights in Lisbon. It's one of the best examples of Late Gothic Manueline architecture, so have a close look at the intricate detailing when you visit.
A fun way to get around Lisbon's hilly streets is by riding the trams. There are different lines across the city, but #28 is the most popular one with visitors.
The Santa Justa lift is an elevator that connects the lower streets of Baixa with Carmo Square, and it is the only remaining vertical elevator in Lisbon. Though it is meant to serve a functional role, it is also quite popular with visitors who find the elevator a novel idea.
And that's a wrap for our week in the Portuguese capital! We hope you enjoyed this video and that it gave you some ideas of things to do in Lisbon. As always, if you have any other suggestion for travellers of places to visit and things to do around town, feel free to share them in the comments below. Wishing you happy travels!
This is part of our Travel in Portugal series. We're making a series of videos showcasing Portuguese culture, Portuguese arts, Portuguese foods, Portuguese religion, Portuguese cuisine and Portuguese people.
