The Russia Conference 2018: Cold peace in the Arctic? Litteraturhuset 14/9-18 kl 9:00
How does the conflict between Russia and the West affect the situation in the Arctic? Join us at NUPI’s annual Russia Conference on 14 September to find out.
The Arctic has long been a region characterized by international cooperation both at the bi- and multilateral level. While the relationship between Russia and the West has worsened dramatically in the aftermath of the crisis in Ukraine, many observers believed that constructive cooperation in the Arctic could largely continue as before.
How does the conflict between the West and Russia affect cooperation in the Arctic? Is it possible to shield this cooperation from the general deterioration in relations, or are we heading for a political cooling in the North? These are some of the questions we will discuss at NUPI's annual Russia conference, which will take place on 14 September at the House of Literature in Oslo.
The conference presents findings from the NRC funded CANARCT project, which aimed to investigate how tensions in Russia’s relations with the West after the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine have affected cooperation between Russia and other actors in the Arctic.

Restaurants in Bergen - Colonialen Litteraturhuset
The city of Bergen, at the west coast of Norway, is the host for the UCI Road Cycling World Championships 2017. We here present a series of the coolest restaurants and hotels in the city:
Colonialen Litteraturhuset or ”House of Literature” lies in the middle of Bergen. It is a hidden gem, tucked away on a cobbled side street, close to the famous fish-market. It may be slightly hard to find, but well worth it.
