[Wikipedia] Little Theatre (Rochester, New York)
The Little Theatre in Rochester, New York, commonly known as The Little is a movie theatre located on historic East Avenue in downtown Rochester, New York and a modest non-profit multiplex specializing in art film, including independent and foreign productions outside the United States.
Founded in 1928, The Little is one of the oldest active movie theaters built specifically to show films in the US, serving as an alternative venue for cinema of higher artistic caliber than what was popular at the time. To remain in business, The Little has created a unique theater experience for its patrons strikingly different from that of standard commercial cinemas. The Little typically shows films that never make it to the large theater chains, either due to lack of publicity, popularity, exposure, or content that is too risky and/or inappropriate for larger audiences (such as NC-17 rated films). Foreign films, independent films, some documentary films and art films are its common fare.
The Little is unique in the area in treating anime films as artistic cinema, and titles by the likes of Hayao Miyazaki always find their way to The Little's screens. Critics at The Little provide a synopsis of any film they intend to show, both on their website and posted around their ticket booths on the street.
The Little also offers live musical performances from local musicians, a rotating art gallery of local artists, and a cafe. Additionally, The Little serves as a performance venue during the Rochester International Jazz Festival each June. The Little is also the home of the Little Theatre Film Society, a group of theater aficionados in the Rochester area. The Little survives largely due to the hard work and dedication of the society's members. The theater is currently operated with the participation of the WXXI Public Broadcasting Council, a non-profit community organization which owns and operates the region's principal public radio and television stations.
The Little has become part of Rochester's extensive theater culture. Rochester has a rich history in cinema, being the home of the Eastman Kodak company and the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film. Kodak film was historically used in a majority of motion pictures (and still is today), creating close ties to the movie industry in Rochester society. The Little Theatre Film Society holds film festivals throughout the year, many of them hosted at The Little. The theatre is well known by any serious cinema patron in Rochester for providing an alternative to standard Hollywood commercial fare. The Little has also avoided the negative reputation for snobbishness that is sometimes associated with art house cinema, cultivating the image of a venue for anyone who is simply seeking an alternative or a community that celebrates cinema.
The word Theatre is often used instead of the word Theater to distinguish between art house cinemas and the more common variety. Theatre is an older form of the word, though both words share the same literal meaning. The Little uses the older form both to make this distinction and due to the age of the theater itself.
In 2014, Hart's Local Grocers opened its doors next to the Little Theatre, catering to the Rochester downtown community's grocery shopping needs.

What Happened When We Visited a Haunted House in New York
When Miss Fanny Van Wyck, born in 1903, passed away in 1988, she could never have imagined her house would be auctioned off by the state against her dying wish. Now her ghost is believed to remain in Miss Fanny's Victorian Party House in Poughkeepsie, New York. The home is known as one of the most haunted in New York State. InsideEdition.com visited the historic location with a psychic medium to explore the house and find out if it really is haunted. The results were truly terrifying.

Bob Dylan - The Blind Horse That Leads You Around (1992 Compilation) from Midnight Caffe site
Bob Dylan
1992 THE BLIND HORSE THAT LEADS YOU AROUND
Pink Panther Records
1992 United States Spring West Coast Tour
This is a beautiful, controlled tour leg with much to offer.
The band is very tight, having just completed an extraordinary tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Although Bob continues to experiment with new or traditional songs, the emphasis here is on his own back catalogue.
Bob plays an enormous amount of harmonica, and he seems genuinely interested in good performances.
Portable DAT recorders are starting to appear, with quantum improvements in sound quality,
but digitial is still an occasional windfall – so we keep jumping from black & white to colour & back again.
It is very difficult to dislike anything here – there are no lows
but there are also few highs where you stop everything you are doing and just listen.
BUT the few highs (& I am not going to name them for you) are more than extraordinary.
& then there is Mr Tambourine Man – you cannot even catagorise that happens here.
Great sound (for the most part), focused Bob, well-rehearsed band – lap it up!.
All 55 songs played on the tour leg are here. There is debate about whether Disease of Conceit was played
on 19 May in Los Angeles. The “track” on the single circulating tape of this concert has a Grateful Dead track
which is not Disease Of Conceit so I am assuming (like Jokerman) that it was not played.
The downside is Bob’s vocals – which are all over the place from extreme nasal to truly beautiful.
The Hawaiian concerts are horrible nasal (except for a few songs which make you weep with joy – you work it out, I can’t).
& what happens when you take the tune from an old folk ballad (Golden Vanity),
mess with the words & electrify it to scare even Hendrix – Under The Red Sky, of course!
Statistics for this compilation (yes, lies, damn lies & statistics masquerading as facts)
55 ball-tearing, sensational tracks
55 different songs
16 concerts are represented here (from the total of 21 concerts)
5 hours & 7 minutes of music
1 bob
The setlists alternated radically from night to night.
Only five songs were played at all 21 concerts, and only 14 songs were played more than ten times.
13 songs were played only once, with 34 songs being played five times or less.

3. Opening of New East River Bridge, New York - Williamsburg Bridge, on the East River
4. 'Move On' - A fruit market somewhere on the lower East Side
5. At the Foot of The Flatiron, or Fuller Building on Broadway and 23rd Street, on the Broadway side near the narrow north corner.
6. Parade of Exempt Firemen - Washington Square Park (Greenwich Village) showing Washington Square Arch
7. Panorama of Blackwell's Island, N.Y. - Heading along the eastern shore of Blackwell's Island, known today as Roosevelt Island. Shows Lighthouse Park and the construction of the Queensboro Bridge over Roosevelt Island, with Manhattan in the far background.
8. Skyscrapers of New York City, from the North River - On the Hudson River, looking toward the piers of Lower Manhattan. Shows approximately where the World Trade Center would be located many years later.

Jack Benny appears Part 2 - Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis - Colgate Comedy Hour
Now here's a strange one. Jack Benny appearing on the Martin and Lewis Colgate Comedy hour seems like a match made in heaven. Trouble is for some reason; Jack Benny isn't given a script and just appears. There must be a story behind this...
The Colgate Comedy Hour is an American comedy-musical variety series that aired live on the NBC network from 1950 to 1955. The show featured many notable comedians and entertainers of the era as guest stars.
Synopsis
The program evolved from NBC's first TV variety showcase, Four Star Revue, sponsored by Motorola. The running gag sketches were dropped in favor of more performing acts. The weekly show was proposed to be hosted by four comedians in a four-week rotation to provide competition for Ed Sullivan's Toast of the Town on CBS. The first episode, starring Hans Conried, Rosemary DeCamp and Dick Foran, was written and produced by the then 22-year-old Peggy Webber, who appeared in over 100 episodes of Dragnet with Jack Webb.
The new format was heavily backed by its sponsor, Colgate-Palmolive, to the tune of $3 million in the first year, and the 8:00 p.m. ET, Sunday evening format show was a spectacular success, particularly for Eddie Cantor and the Martin & Lewis and Abbott & Costello duos. In his autobiography, Jerry Lewis wrote that the show premiered Sunday, September 17, 1950, with Martin & Lewis and was telecast from the Park Theatre off Columbus Circle in New York City. As theatres are known by different names over history, it is possible that this was the now-demolished International Theatre at 5 Columbus Circle, the broadcast location of another NBC show of the era, Your Show of Shows with Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca. In fact, Eddie Cantor hosted the first Colgate Hour on September 10, 1950.
During the 1950-51 season, AT&T put into regular service a coast-to-coast coaxial/microwave interconnection service which allowed live telecasts from across the nation. Three production units were quickly set up, one in New York, one in Chicago, and one in Los Angeles. Martin & Lewis and Abbott & Costello anchored the West Coast, broadcasting from the El Capitan theater in Hollywood (today known as Avalon Hollywood. Other shows that originated here include The Hollywood Palace), while Eddie Cantor anchored from New York. This gave NBC a substantial edge over Ed Sullivan, since top-grade talent from motion pictures could also do network TV on the West Coast Colgate Comedy Hour, while Sullivan had to work with whomever happened to be in New York at the time that a particular episode aired.
During the 1952-53 season, Cantor suffered a heart attack immediately after a Colgate Comedy Hour broadcast in September. Although he quickly recovered and returned in January 1953, he was reluctant to move with the show. By the fourth season, the sponsor was providing $6 million, but the performers were finding difficulty in offering fresh material. Ratings hence began to decline. Cantor had become too ill to continue in the hosting role, and the travel was too stressful and painful for him. His final Colgate appearance was in May 1954. Vic Schoen was hired as the musical director in 1954.
In 1954, Tony Martinez, later cast as the farmhand on The Real McCoys, made his television debut on The Colgate Comedy Hour.
