Timberline Hwy from Timberline Lodge to Government Camp in the Oregon
Cascade Mountains
This drive was taken on March 1, 2015. A beautiful sunny day in the
Oregon Cascades. Not a lot of snow but enough to bring out spring
skiers.
Salmon River, Welches, OR
A compilation of various trips to my favorite spot in Welches. The footage covers the course of several months, from January to May, so the season change is somewhat noticeable. Everything was shot on the GH2, with Driftwood's moon setting. Lens used were the Olympus 9-18 and 60mm macro, as well as a few with the trusty old 20mm.
Tamanawas Falls is the best hike in Mt Hood, Oregon - Adventure Guru
Tamanawas Falls is my favorite hike in the Mt. Hood area! It's an extra treat if you hike it during Autumn. The Fall foliage will blow your mind.
*Bring water shoes if you like to scramble up and around the rocks and river. You can access directly behind the falls with a 40-foot rock scramble.
ADA: This hike has roots and rock and is narrow in places. There are a few small sections with steep climbs as well. There is no bathroom on site.

Badger Lake Road Off-Road Trail - Mount Hood National Forest, Oregon
For the full trail guide please visit:
Badger Lake Road off-road trail snakes through a thin ribbon of forest flanked on either side by the Badger Creek Wilderness. After coming around the flank of Badger Butte, the trail narrows and plunges down a rocky shelf road toward the lake. Big views of the ridgeline where Bennett Pass Road traverses can be seen across the basin. The palisades in the distance are below Flag Point Lookout. Badger Lake, just after a shallow water crossing, is a wonderful spot to spend an afternoon canoeing, fishing, swimming, or hanging out enjoying the mountain air.

Suspected Arsonist Caught on Video Allegedly Igniting Brush Fires In California
A man who was caught on tape allegedly igniting several brush fires in California has been detained as the prime suspect in an arson investigation. Freelance photographers Bernie Deyo and Jeff Zimmerman shot the video Tuesday in the small town of Neeanch, which is in the northwestern part of Los Angeles County. Deyo and Zimmerman called 911 and alerted them what was happening. Once authorities arrived, the camera men were heard screaming: Stop this guy! Stop this guy!

AAS Eclipse Workshop 2017
On 21 August 2017, a total eclipse of the Sun will cross the United States from coast to coast, giving tens of millions of people in a 70-mile-wide path from Oregon to South Carolina a chance to see the solar corona and experience all phases of the eclipse. The Moon's shadow will sweep across the country starting mid morning in Oregon with just under two minutes of totality and reaching maximum duration of approximately 2 minutes 40 seconds in Southern Illinois before exiting over South Carolina mid afternoon.
Outside the path of totality, all of North America will experience a partial eclipse. This event, the first total solar eclipse to touch the US mainland since 1979 and the first to span the continent since 1918, presents a unique opportunity to excite people about science and connect them personally to the cosmos, as well as to conduct several important scientific observations. We are a working group dedicated to the science and public outreach of this unique event.
The Eclipse 2017 Workshop IV took place in Carbondale, Illinois, on Friday and Saturday, 10 and 11 June 2016, at the SIU Carbondale Student Center, hosted by Bob Baer and Shadia Habbal.

The Cruise of the Snark Audiobook by Jack London | Full Audiobook with subtitles
The Cruise of the Snark (1913) is a memoir of Jack and Charmian London's 1907-1909 voyage across the Pacific. His descriptions of surf-riding, which he dubbed a royal sport, helped introduce it to and popularize it with the mainland. London writes: Through the white crest of a breaker suddenly appears a dark figure, erect, a man-fish or a sea-god, on the very forward face of the crest where the top falls over and down, driving in toward shore, buried to his loins in smoking spray, caught up by the sea and flung landward, bodily, a quarter of a mile. It is a Kanaka on a surf-board. And I know that when I have finished these lines I shall be out in that riot of colour and pounding surf, trying to bit those breakers even as he, and failing as he never failed, but living life as the best of us may live it.
