Orlando is famous for its theme parks, but there's a whole bunch of other fun and unusual stuff to enjoy during your visit!
From indoor skydiving to zip-lining over a swamp full of alligators, these are some of the zaniest, craziest and most fun things to do in the whole Orlando region. These underrated attractions prove that there are so many cool things to do in Florida besides the theme parks.

Sharks & Gators
it was a beautiful day so I took the kayak out and went on a new adventure. I went down a little water way named Goat Creek off the Indian River in Valkaria FL. I saw at least three gators - most moms with little babies I could either see or hear near by. Then when I cam back out into our brackish river just seconds after I had made the decision to get y cast net and stand in the clear ankle deep water - not 1 but 4 different hammer head sharks appearded. I tried really hard to get some footage for you both under water and on top - but was lucky enough to get them splashing right in front of the kayak! Where else can you get sunburn, float with the gators then hang with the sharks! I am really happy to live in Brevard Florida!
Thank you for watching Florida Girl Adventure videos. A few years ago, I started this project of making videos while I was out 'adventuring' to share with my family. As you see I am a solo hiker, kayak-er and camper and I wanted my husband and daughter to be able to see the sites and share some of my experiences, without all the bugs, dirt and heat of actually being there. In December 2015 I went live with my first videos to Youtube and they were received successfully from the viewers. With that I have been encouraged to keep sharing my videos with you. I know that people from totally different states who may never make it to Florida might get to see some back wooded area, some swamp, or some local gathering hole that they otherwise would never have seen.
If you like my videos please check out my website here:

Webinar: Increasing Medicaid & CHIP Enrollment in Hispanic Communities (9/14/16)
While there has been steady progress in reducing the number of uninsured Hispanic children in the United States, access to and enrollment in health coverage for Hispanic children and families continues to be disproportionately lower than other demographics. Hispanic children are one and a half times as likely to be uninsured than all other children. The Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign assembled a panel to discuss strategies to increase Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program enrollment for Hispanic children, with a special emphasis on developing messaging and activities that resonate with Hispanic families.

Year in Review - Norwalk Businesses
Watch more and discuss:
Reporter Priscilla Lombardi takes a look back at some newsmakers in Norwalk business in 2013.
In April, State and Local officials announced that 542 Westport Avenue in Norwalk will be Connecticut's first energy efficiency project financed through the Commercial and Industrial Property Clean Energy Program, or C Pace.
The program that we launched today provides a new way to provide resources to energy efficiency projects, and it turns out that we need innovation in terms of new technologies, advanced solar power or wind power, better ways to do efficiency, but we also need a way to flow money to these projects. Said Conn. Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Daniel Esty.
Homeserve USA moved its headquarters from Stamford, to the Merritt 7 corporate office in Norwalk in November. The home emergency service company is dedicated to protecting homeowners within the area and expects to hire 130 new employees.
Our business is growing at about 20 to 25 percent a year and we wanted to find a place that there was enough space for all the employees we have now, said HomeServe USA CEO Thomas Rusin. But also for the next five years to come at a minimum, where there was more office space very closely located where we can grow beyond that and there was a great group of talented people to hire.
Any time that we can grow jobs in Connecticut and frankly attract them from out of state, we're picking up employees that were formally based in Florida, is a great day, said Gov. Dannel Malloy
State senators and representatives welcomed JayStar group to the Small Business Express program in March.
The program is an initiative that has helped hundreds of Connecticut companies grow and expand over the last two years, creating thousands of jobs in the process.
We are a state of small businesses, said State Representative Larry Cafero.
South Norwalk Electric Works announced in July a change to its utility bill deposit policy for local businesses. Instead of requiring a new business to deposit three months worth of utility costs to open service, new service can now be started with a letter of credit.
Looking at the issues, Senator Duff came up with a solution that a letter of credit, which we would have to accept, said South Norwalk Electric Water General Manager John Hiscock. We would agree to that as opposed to optional on our part would go a long way to protecting our rate payers, but also protecting the businesses and allowing them to keep their capital to reinvest in their businesses as opposed to sitting in a very low interest deposit account in our organization.
That's some of what made news for Norwalk's businesses in 2013. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you in the New Year.

Panel 2: Appropriate Level of Regulatory Oversight
Science in policy and regulation presents an interesting challenge in a federal system of government. On the one hand, we view scientific knowledge as immutable across political boundaries and indifferent to hierarchy of political jurisdiction. The scientific understanding of the impact of fracking on the environment, the utility of a new medical therapeutic or the risk of nanoparticle accumulation in the body transcends national, state or local government jurisdictional boundaries. One the other hand, our federal system celebrates diversity of opinion and regulatory experimentation based on that diversity. Under circumstances of genuine uncertainty, and in contexts of geographically constrained impact, this diversity of opinion may generate not only a Brandeisian laboratory of democracy, but laboratories of scientific discovery. However, when impacts cannot be readily contained, when should or can local diversity of opinion and belief outweigh a collective decision at a national, or even state, level?
