I Found My Great Grandfather's Grave At The Los Angeles National Cemetery
It took me more than 60 years to discover that my great Grandfather is buried in the Los Angeles National Veteran's Cemetery In Westwood, California. With the help of the Ancestry and Find A Grave websites, it only took me a few hours to drive from Palm Springs, California to Westwood, to visit his grave.

Dean Martin's son, Dean Paul Martin was killed in a plane crash in 1987, at the age of 35 and is buried at the Los Angeles National Cemetery in Westwood, California. Martin was in one of the first boy bands, Dino, Desi and Billy. The pop music group had a couple of hit songs in the late 1960s. Dean later became an actor, pro tennis player and a pilot. He died tragically, when his fighter jet fighter plane crashed in 1987. His life was short, but full and memorable. His parents, Dean Martin and Jeanne Martin are buried across the street at the Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary.

And as you turn and leave.... Your respectfully silent and graciously thankful for every single one of their sacrifices.
New Columbarium At LA National Cemetery Will Give More Veterans A Final Resting Place
The ashes of as many as 90,000 veterans will be housed in the new columbarium. Residents of LA County will no longer have to drive to Riverside to honor their loved ones who served in the military. Lesley Marin reports.
