This short video follows California State Route 17 through the southern Silicon Valley from the community of Los Gatos near the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains to the northern terminus of CA 17 at the I-280 interchange in San Jose. Prior to the 1984 renumbering, State Route 17 ran all the way to San Rafael but since has had its terminus at the I-280 interchange just west of downtown San Jose.
