Италия.Амалфи. Amalfi

VISIT AMALFI COAST AND POSITANO (SOUTHURN ITALY)
AMALFI COAST
The Amalfi Coast, Italy (la Costiera Amalfitana) is a beautiful and renowned stretch of mountainous coastline south of Naples, in Campania. The southern end of the Bay of Naples stretches out in a steep and rocky peninsula that reaches towards the Isle of Capri. Sorrento, another major tourist destination, looks back towards Naples from the north coast of the peninsula. The southern side of the peninsula is dotted with picturesque villages and towns clinging giddily to cliffs; this is what is known as the Amalfi Coast.
For decades these fishing villages, stacked precariously above the sea, have been one of Italy's major tourist attractions. Nowadays the area's principal industry is tourism, and a staggering number of hotels have been squeezed into the restricted spaces of the small towns. Well-accustomed to catering for affluent foreign tourists, the area offers a generous selection of restaurants, bars, boutiques, boat trips.. just about anything self-indulgent that you can spend money on.
Although prices are generally high, there are affordable options in the area. Some visitors find the region over-developed and over-crowded, especially in the height of summer, but for many the little boutiques, ceramics shops and the welcome laid on for tourists is part of the coastline's charm. The views are undeniably breathtaking, and away from the main road and the tourist hot-spots you can still discover the peace that charmed earlier visitors.
POSITANO
Positano is situated in the Campania region of Italy, on the Amalfi Coast. Once a wealthy maritime power, it began the last century as a fishing settlement, and ended it as a popular, and rather chi-chi resort, famous for its hotels and boutiques as well as for the winding stairways that connect the town, and the towering cliffs above. Every inch of land is prized; buildings are stacked up one above the other on the steep slopes, and open areas are intensively cultivated with fruit and vegetables thriving in the fertile volcanic soil.
The mountainous interior of the peninsula rises above the town, and Positano boasts one the world's few 'pierced' mountains; a giant shoulder of rock with a hole punched through it (a miracle performed by the Virgin Mary, according to local folklore).
Positano was once part of the powerful Republic of Amalfi, and played its part in international trading despite the lack of a harbour. Surviving Saracen raids, the town thrived and in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries was famous for its trading with the East. Impressive palazzi were built; several are now romantically crumbling, others have been converted into luxury hotels. With the onset of the industrial revolution, harbourless Positano could not compete with rival ports, and had to wait until the birth of the tourist industry to regain its wealthy status.

Napoli Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Napoli.
Napoli is the capital of Campania in southern Italy where hustle and bustle combines with serenity and joie de vivre. The Centro Storico Monumentale is located around the harbour and the Piazza Del Plebiscito embodies both grandeur and vastness, in contrast to the narrow confines of the old town. Close to the harbour is the mighty Castel Nuovo, its graceful entrance arch seemingly hemmed-in by two awkward-looking towers. Its construction began during the reign of Charles The First but Alfons Of Aragon subsequently had the castle completely rebuilt. From the centre of the town a small causeway leads to the tiny island of Borgo Santa Lucia. The island is dominated by a building which in ancient times was the residence of Lucullus, namely the Castel Dell´Ovo, the oldest fortress in Naples. The Via Partenope, with its magnificent buildings and luxury hotels on the coast near Santa Lucia, developed by land reclamation in the nineteenth century. A walk along the Caracciolo coastal road towards Mergellina passes the Parco Communale with palm trees, sculptures and fountains. Measuring four square kilometres, Procida is the smallest island off Naples, densely populated and with a long history and the picturesque Marina Grande at the Cattolocio Ferry Port typifies relaxed island life. Ischia, the island of Titan Tiphoios, is the largest of the three islands in the Gulf Of Naples, each one now being a very popular tourist destination. A piece of heaven that fell to Earth”, that is how the Neapolitans rightly refer to their beautiful city and its surroundings.

Driving the Amalfi Coast - Italy
Spent a weekend in the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Picked up a BMW at the Rome airport and drove about 3 1/2 hours south to Sorrento passing Naples along the way. Sorrento was my base, then drove south to legendary Positano and then Amalfi. National Geographic includes the Amalfi Coast in World's 50 greatest drives and it certainly was. Blue skies, warm temperatures and stunning scenery. One tip though, weekends are busy and it may be better to schedule your drive mid week. Enjoy!

Naples Tour - What to see in the Historic Centre in 1 day - Mini-Documentary
What to see on a walk through the Historic Centre of Naples.
A mini-documentary by Deanna Allison.
Italy's Rai5 tv features footage from this film in their new documentary:
Italia, poeti e navigatori - Napoli, l'indescrivibile.
Narration:
Naples is Italy’s 3rd largest city and sits on the Bay of Naples, in the south of the country.
It lies within sight of Mount Vesuvius, the volcano that destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum in 79 AD.
Naples is easy to reach by air, train or bus but be aware that the roads can get very busy.
We arrived by local train from Sorrento.
We only had a few hours to explore the city, so we decided to do a walking tour through its Centro Storico, or the Historic Centre, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
From the railway station it’s just a short walk to the Porta Nolana, or Nolana Gate, which used to guard the ancient port entrance to Naples.
Inside the Gate, the streets of the historic centre follow the street plan of ancient Neapolis.
We were struck by the hustle and bustle of the area.
It may look a bit shabby and the paintwork may be peeling, but this area is full of life and well worth a visit.
There are many narrow streets to explore and you’ll see balconies everywhere, many carrying washing lines across the street.
Just inside the Porta Nolana is the busy Mercato di Porta Nolana.
This is the best seafood market In the city.
And, if you don’t mind crowds, chaos and confusion, this market should not be missed.
This is where locals go in search of ingredients for their daily meals which are so rich in seafood.
And by seafood I mean, clams, mussels, oysters, shrimp, squid, octopus, sea bass and sword fish, anchovies and sardines and more, all plucked fresh out of the sea.
Of course, seafood isn’t the only produce.
Fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and cheeses, breads and desserts, and grocery items round out the market’s offerings.
Moving on from the market, we headed for the Duomo, or Cathedral
passing the Church of Girolamini on the way.
The Late Baroque façade of this church dates from 1780.
The Cathedral is known as the Cattedrale di San Gennaro, in honour of the patron saint of Naples.
The Cathedral dates from the 14th century
and was was built by the Angevins.
though this neo-Gothic facade was only added in the late 19th century.
The large nave of the cathedral has 16 piers that incorporate more than 100 classical granite columns from the East and Africa.
The decoration is mostly Baroque: the side walls bear portraits of 46 saints and an ornate painted ceiling.
Off the right aisle, is the Chapel of the Treasury), completed in 1637.
The most sought-after artists of the period worked on the chapel, creating one of Naples' greatest baroque legacies.
Highlights here include Giovanni Lanfranco's dizzying dome fresco.
Hidden away in a strongbox behind the altar is a 14th-century silver bust in which sit the skull of San Gennaro and the two phials that hold his miraculously liquefying blood.
Before leaving the cathedral, we took some time to admire this 14th century medieval fresco.
And outside, we looked at a modern, giant mural of San Gennaro which lies just a short walk from the Cathedral itself.
Next, we headed for Via San Gregorio Armeno which is also known as the Christmas Alley.
This narrow street is famous across Italy for its nativity crib figurines.
Its clutter of shops and workshops sell a bewildering variety of objects, ranging from traditional biblical characters to kitsch celebrity figurines
and even miniature fruit and vegetables.
And, of course, you can buy miniature nativity houses to display your figurines.
The market is a traditional destination before Christmas but can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
Our next stop was the Church of San Domenico Maggiore.
The interior of this church is one of the most complex and rich among the city churches in Naples and includes a splendid nave plus side-chapels.
You may also spot another nativity scene as you explore.
At the Piazzeta Nilo we stopped to admire the ancient marble Statua del dio Nilo, or statue of the Nile River god
which dates back to Roman times although the bearded head is a more recent 18th century addition.
At the end of our walk, we arrived at the Piazza del Gesù Nuovo.
For hundreds of years this was the principal western entrance to the city.
The bell tower of the Basilica di Santa Chiara is a prominent feature here.
This beautiful square is a favourite late-night hang-out for students and features the Libreria Dante e Descartes which houses a rich collection of second-hand books.
Before leaving Naples, we took a moment to look back at the Guglia dell’Immacolata, which overlooks the square.
This rococo obelisk was built between 1747 and 1750 and the gilded copper statue of the Virgin Mary was added in 1753.
Filmed in Campania, Italy in April 2016.
Film and Narration by Deanna Allison.
義大利拿坡里離開渡輪碼頭往蘇連多 To Sorrento, Napoli (Italy )

Sorrento to Amalfi The Drive
Our Amalfi Drive adventure, we had a driver for the day picked up at the hotel & dropped back again after we had visited Positano, Ravello, & Amalfi. At each place we had time look around and even have some lunch total miles was about 40 with stops of about 2-3 hours or when we wanted to take photos. You can do it a lot cheaper by organised tours but are rather limited to time etc.
This was the way to do it for those extra euros well worth it.

此生必去的????????南意小岛&在那不勒斯遭遇可怕的出租车司机 | Fanfan's vlog

Places to see in ( Naples - Italy )
Places to see in ( Naples - Italy )
Naples, a city in southern Italy, sits on the Bay of Naples. Nearby is Mount Vesuvius, the still-active volcano that destroyed nearby Roman town Pompeii. Dating to the 2nd millennium B.C., Naples has centuries of important art and architecture. The city's cathedral, the Duomo di San Gennaro, is filled with frescoes. Other major landmarks include the lavish Royal Palace and Castel Nuovo, a 13th-century castle.
Italy's third-largest city is one of its oldest, most artistic and most appetising. Naples' centro storico (historic centre) is a Unesco World Heritage Site, its archaeological treasures are among the world's most important, and its swag of vainglorious palaces, castles and churches make Rome look positively provincial.
Then there's the food. Blessed with rich volcanic soils, a bountiful sea, and centuries of culinary know-how, the Naples region is one of Italy's epicurean heavyweights, serving up the country's best pizza, pasta and coffee, and many of its most celebrated seafood dishes, street snacks and sweet treats.
Certainly, Naples' urban sprawl can feel anarchic, tattered and unloved. But look beyond the grime, graffiti and occasional gruffness and you'll uncover a city of breathtaking frescoes, sculptures and panoramas, of unexpected elegance, of spontaneous conversations and profound humanity. Welcome to Italy's most unlikely masterpiece.
Naples used to be divided into 30 quartieri (neighbourhoods), however today these neighbourhoods don't hold much administrative use but are still used by locals to refer to parts of the city. Nowadays the city is divided into 10 municipalities. However this page will divide Naples into 5 districts and regions on the point of view of the traveller. In Naples, some may find the actual conditions of many buildings and streets, and the rampant graffiti, off-putting. Others claim this is the immense character and culture of Napoli...and even the dirt and grime has its own flavor...a Neapolitan recipe for reality, and great fun. Naples' peculiarity is that the city centre is not the elegant part of the city. Just do not expect in the city centre the pristine conditions of many other major European cities, since the historical centre, unlike most European cities, is not the downtown. If you want to visit the elegant part of the city, you can walk around the wonderful lungomare (the Riviera di Chiaia or Via Francesco Caracciolo), and visit Via dei Mille and Vomero hill (main shopping areas).
Castel dell'Ovo at Porto Santa Lucia Naples' known port with the Egg Castle on a small peninsula. The castle currently houses the Museum of Prehistory. The entrance is free and has magnificent view of the gulf of Naples from the top of the castle. Castelnuovo (Maschio Angioino) A huge medieval castle at the shore which houses the main city museum featuring various collections, but most importantly a picture gallery (with focus on 19th Century Italian painting). From the roof, you can get one of the best views of the city.
( Naples - Italy ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Naples . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Naples - Italy
