Lucknow Tourism - Top places to visit in one day
Lucknow is known as the 'City of Nawabs' or the 'City of Tehzeeb'. You will find people who are so polite and the city has so much of heritage in it. I have tried to cover many things in Lucknow.
Bara Imambara
The building is part of the Asaf-ud-Daula Imambara Complex, which contains a mosque, several courtyards, and gateways
Bauli
It is a step-well which shows the reflection of a person who is entering the Bauli, it is like a CCTV camera of that place.
Chota Imambara
It is about 1.5 km from the Bara Imambara, another architectural masterpiece in white texture with a mosaic of green patterns.
Rumi Darwaza
The Rumi Darwaza of Lucknow is one of the most impressive structures in all of India. It was built in the year 1784, under the ‘Food for Work’ program he initiated to help the city’s population get through a scarcity of food.
British Residency
The British Residency of Lucknow is a famous historical landmark. This large collection of gardens and ruins offer a fascinating historical glimpse into the first stages of the fall of the British. In 1857 revolt the British Residency served as a refuge for approximately 3000 British inhabitants.
Chikankari Shopping
Chikankari is fine art which is preserved in Lucknow, I did lots of shopping of chikankari work in all forms.
Dr. Ambedkar Park
It is a massive red stone park dedicated to work done by many social activists.
Gomti River front
It is Lucknow’s Marine Drive, it is a magnificent long stretch road along the Gomti River
Chandrika Devi Temple
It is situated on the bank of river Gomti in Kathvara village, near Lucknow City. This temple is 300 years old and is well known for the deity Chandrika Devi - a form of Goddess Durga.

Best places to visit Lucknow| City of Nawab Lucknow| An unfinished dream video| by the thaat
Lucknow, a large city in northern India, is the capital of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Toward its center is Rumi Darwaza, a Mughal gateway. Nearby, the 18th-century Bara Imambara shrine has a huge arched hall. Upstairs, Bhool Bhulaiya is a maze of narrow tunnels with city views from its upper balconies. Close by, the grand Victorian Husainabad Clock Tower was built as a victory column in 1881.

Hussainabad Heritage Tonga Ride | Exploring Old Lucknow
Hey Guys
Old Lucknow is truly incredible.
I took a Tanga ride to explore the famous Hussainabad area. This is what I saw
1. Rumi Darwaza- This is the entry point to Lucknow and has been shown as Lahore in the movie Gadar. Also interestingly, if inverted, it looks like a million rupee necklace
2. Clock Tower- This is a very beautiful tower built by the British aping the Big Ben. Thankfully it is functional and also shows the direction of wind, hehe
3. Satkhanda- The story of this abandoned 4 storey building ironically named as Satkhanda which means 7 storeys is shocking. A Nawab built it for his wife who died during the construction. So the King abandoned its construction mid way. Now the government is restoring the tower which incidentally resembles Leaning tower of Pisa.
4. Shahi Talab- The royal pond
5. Chota Imambara
6. Akbari Gate- I entered the bylanes of Hussainabad and saw beautiful the making of Chikankari Kurti pieces.
7. Izharson Perfumers- The oldest attar shop in Lucknow. Did some shopping too (mandatory)
So explore the heritage lane with me.
Much Love ☺
