荔枝灣 滿滿的歷史事蹟
相傳在公元前206年，漢高祖劉邦派遣陸賈至廣州向趙佗勸降，當時陸賈在現在的西村為駐地，他在駐地的附近，沿著溪灣種植荔枝及開闢蓮塘，這就是荔枝灣的由來。
唐朝懿宗咸通年間，嶺南節度使鄭從讜在荔枝洲上構築荔園，荔枝灣因而出名。
五代南漢後主劉????在荔枝灣建造顯德園（今昌華苑），方圓20餘里，每當荔枝熟時便與群臣遊宴，稱為“紅雲宴”。顯德園已毀於北宋初期。元朝以昌華苑為御果園，改種檸檬，製成“渴水”，列為著名貢品之一。明朝以後，荔枝灣內庭園結構建築漸多，並由皇朝禁地轉為詩人雅集的勝地。據記載，當時著名的詩社有荔香園、彭園、綺瀾堂、小畫舫齋等，現今只留下小畫舫齋故址。荔枝灣景色迷人，“荔灣漁唱”，成為明代羊城八景之一。
荔枝灣在古代其實並不限於今日的泮塘及荔灣湖一帶。明代的“荔灣漁唱”，有“千里紅雲，八橋畫舫”之稱，可見西關湧外圍都可稱作荔枝灣，北至駟馬湧（又名洗馬或司馬），南至黃沙。劉王花塢在泮溪（塘），唐荔園在鄭公堤江邊。 《乾隆南海縣志》稱：“廣四十里，袤五十里”。今駟馬湧和上西關湧間，仍有“西苑地”及荔枝灣地名，表示唐、宋以來園林區所在。今天荔溪東約、南約、西約、簡溪及泮塘五約圍繞的這片古荔枝灣地（荔枝灣故道），當地人稱為舊荔枝灣。

The Dragon Boat Festival, also called Double Fifth Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth moon of the lunar calendar. It is one of the most important Chinese festivals, the other two being the Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year.
A very popular dish during the Dragon Boat festival is tzung tzu. This tasty dish consists of rice dumplings with meat, peanut, egg yolk, or other fillings wrapped in bamboo leaves. The tradition of tzung tzu is meant to remind us of the village fishermen scattering rice across the water of the Mi Low river in order to appease the river dragons so that they would not devour Chu Yuan.

例如影片中的沙湾古镇，就建于宋代，已经有800多年的历史，是番禺地区保存相当完好的古镇，也是广府乡土文化的代表。
沙湾古镇保存了大量明、清和民国时期的古建筑，充分展示了岭南风格的木雕、砖雕、石雕和灰塑，蚝壳墙、镬耳屋都很有特色，其中车陂街为历史上富户聚居的名街，而安宁西街则是一条典型的岭南珠江三角洲富裕乡村的街市，都很值得一看。古镇内古祠堂众多，以留耕堂最为著名，这个是沙湾何氏家族的祠堂，布局严谨、规模宏大、造工精巧，是沙湾古镇的标志性建筑。
沙湾除了古建筑，灿烂的民俗文化也不可不看，沙湾是广东音乐发祥地，“何氏三杰”与传统民间艺术“沙湾飘色”闻名遐迩，每到传统节日这里也会有各种民俗活动，很有意思。
美食方面，沙湾也有很多值得吃的小吃。著名的广州小吃姜埋奶就源于沙湾，由于沙湾水牛奶的质量好，所以这里的姜埋奶和双皮奶都格外浓郁。另外，照记云吞也是村民都推荐的小吃，可以一试。
