MacArthur Park, The bronze statues tower over everyone, including the larger-than-life statues of President Sergio Osmeña and General Carlos P. Romulo, who were with the landing party of Gen. MacArthur.
Gen. MacArthur had to leave the Philippines during the height of the Japanese attack. Upon reaching Australia, Gen. MacArthur uttered the phrase that is forever remembered by Filipinos: “I shall return“. Contrary to some misconceptions, these famous lines were uttered not when Gen. MacArthur left the Philippines, from his headquarters in Corregidor. Upon his return, General MacArthur issued a Proclamation, etched at the Leyte Landing Memorial.
The town of Palo is adjacent to, and the Memorial is a few minutes from, Tacloban City, the capital of the province of Leyte.

The MacArthur Leyte Landing Memorial National Park (also known as the Leyte Landing Memorial Park and MacArthur Park) is a protected area of the Philippines that commemorates the historic landing of General Douglas MacArthur in Leyte Gulf at the start of the campaign to recapture and liberate the Philippines from Japanese occupation on 20 October 1944. This event led to the largest naval battle of World War II (Also the world's largest naval battle in terms of gross tonnage sunk) and Japan's eventual defeat and surrender after almost three years. The war memorial is located in the municipality of Palo on Leyte island in Eastern Visayas and is one of the region's major tourist attractions. It was declared a national park on 12 July 1977 through Letter of Instructions No. 572 signed by President Ferdinand Marcos.

New MacArthur Park leyte Gulf landing 75th Anniversary
FIREWORKS display, dancing fountain show, and brightly lit park greeted the public Sunday evening, October 13, as the provincial and tourism officials inaugurated and switched on the state-of-the-art lighting system of MacArthur Shrine in Palo, Leyte for this year's 75th Leyte Gulf Landings anniversary commemoration.
We are ready... With funding from the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (Tieza) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) Yolanda Tourism Infrastructure Rehabilitation Fund, the MacArthur Park today has regained its beauty. A fitting memorial to both the bemedalled and unsung heroes of the 2nd World War, said Karen Tiopes, regional tourism director.

Before Typhoon Ursula landed we had a chance to go to some tourist spots in Tacloban City the Tacloban City Convention Center.
We go to MV Eva Jocelyn a ship that goes in the shoreline during storm surge caused by Typhoon Yolanda.

1. Intramuros
Urban district and historic walled city w/in metropolitan manila, in the Philippines. The name from the spanish word meaning within walls refers to the fortified could ty founded city at the main mount of the pasig river shoertly 1571 by the spanish conquistador Miguel Lopes de Legazpi.
2. EDSA SHRINE
Built in 1989 on donated land ti commemorates the people Power Revolution, the shrine is the site of twi peaceful demonstration that toppled preside Ferdinand Marcos( the people Power Revolution or EDSA 1) In 1986 and Joseph Estrada.
3. CAMIGUIN ISLAND
Camiguin white sand island is both colorful and intriguing the name camiguin is derived from the native word kamagong a tree of the ebony family that thrives near lake mainit in rhe province of surigao del norte.the original inhabitants of camiguin were manobos who migrated from surigao.
4. Tawi tawi
Yawi tawi was previously pary of the province of sulu on September 11,1973, pursuant to presidential decree no.302, the new province of tawi tawi seat of the province government was established in Bud Bango.
