Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

RoboThespian Robot Teacher Teaching Science in Israel Technion MadaTech
RoboThespian™ as its name implies, is a dramatic actor robot complete with gestures, facial expressions and so on. Now, thanks to collaboration between Technion and MadaTech- The Israel National Museum of Science, Technology & Space and The Gelfand Center for Model Building, Robotics and Communication at MadaTech, Thespian has gained summer employment as a teacher! One August 2012 morning we witnessed the first ever formal science lesson on the topic of levers, taught to a group of grade 5-6 Israeli students. This experimental live lesson was given in the framework of the project conducted by Prof. Igor Verner of the Technion's Department of Education in Technology and Science and Dr. Takuya Hashimoto of Tokyo University of Science together with Alex Polishuk and Niv Krainer of MadaTech and Technion. The goal of the experiment was to investigate the interaction between the learner and the teacher when mediated by a humanoid robot. RoboThespian™, produced by Engineered Arts of the UK, was bought two years ago by MadaTech for the robotics exhibition held there.

Atlit detainee camp
The Atlit detainee camp was a detention camp established by the authorities of the British Mandate for Palestine at the end of the 1930s on the Israeli coastal plain (what is now Israel's northern coast), 20 kilometers (12 mi) south of Haifa. The camp was established to prevent Jewish refugees from entering Mandatory Palestine. Tens of thousands of Jewish refugees were interned at the camp, which was surrounded by barbed wire and watchtowers.
The Atlit camp is now a museum of the history of Ha'apala. Atlit was declared a National Heritage Site in 1987.
Mandatory Palestine
Aliyah Bet (Hebrew: עלייה ב', Aliyah 'B' – bet being the second letter of the Hebrew alphabet) was the code name given to illegal immigration by Jews, most of whom were Holocaust survivors[1] and refugees from Nazi Germany[2], to Mandatory Palestine between 1934 and 1948 in violation of the restrictions laid out in the British White Paper of 1939. In modern-day Israel it has also been called by the Hebrew term Ha'pala (Hebrew: הַעְפָּלָה; ascension). The Aliyah Bet is distinguished from the Aliyah Aleph (Aliyah 'A', Aleph being the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet) which refers to the limited Jewish immigration permitted by British authorities during the same period. The name Aliya B is also shortened name for Aliya Bilty Legalit (Hebrew: עלייה בלתי-לגאלית - illegal immigration).
