Invisalign in Scottsdale Arizona
About Invisalign:
Invisalign is considered to be an aesthetic alternative to conventional braces. Unlike metallic or ceramic braces, the Invisalign system is based on inducing the desired tooth movements with the help of custom fabricated, transparent plastic trays that must be worn on both arches for the required duration of time.
The Invisalign system does not rely on the use of metal wires or brackets bonded onto teeth. The trays are changed every 2 weeks to Invisalign trayadjust movements and to retain teeth in their new positions. The system was introduced particularly to cater to the needs of individuals who wish to correct and align their smiles without have to wear braces for 2-3 years.
Considerations:
There are a number of important Invisalign considerations that are communicated to patients prior to the treatment. Firstly, it is essential to remember that Invisalign systems can only correct mild to moderate dental mal-alignments. The forces created by the trays on the teeth are only capable of repositioning the tooth or the crown only, and cannot be used to induce jaw movements or growth adjustments for an ideal bite.
In a nutshell, Invisalign only deals with dental issues whereas conventional braces can be used to correct various skeletal issues and to manipulate jaw growth for ideal results.
Invisalign is therefore not recommended for patients with skeletal issues of the jaw associated with growth and are only capable of aligning and repositioning the teeth for a better, straighter smile.
The Procedure:
Following a consultation addressing all queries and concerns that patients may have about the Invisalign treatment, the team of specialists at Jerome Riddle DDS conduct a thorough intra-oral examination using photographs, radiographs and other diagnostic tools to record the present degree of mal-alignment. The information derived from these examinations is then used to fabricate a pair of transparent plastic trays that are meant to snugly fit the patient’s upper and lower arches.
Patients are encouraged to wear the Invisalign trays for at least 22 hours a days, removing them only for eating and tooth brushing. This is essential to ensure efficient movement and alignment of teeth. A new set of trays is fabricated every 2-3 weeks to accommodate new movements, and the procedure continues till all teeth have been aligned and retained in their new, corrected positions.
Advantages:
Perhaps the greatest advantage of opting for the Invisalign treatment at Jerome Riddle DDS, Phoenix, AZ, is the fact that the trays remain completely invisible even when a patient is wearing them. All movement and repositioning takes place most discreetly, unlike conventional braces that involve the placement of metallic brackets and wires on the teeth. The trays can conveniently be removed when the patient wishes to eat or brush teeth and re-inserted again.
With the Invisalign system, no one get labeled ‘metal mouth’ and the procedure takes significantly less time than the total duration of a conventional orthodontic treatment.
Invisalign offers outstanding convenience to aesthetics-conscious patients, and in cases of mild to moderate mal-alignment, spacing or crowding, offers a stunning smile makeover.

The 61st Annual Navajo Festival of Arts and Culture at the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff presents artists, music, dances, and Heritage Insight programs. Over 75 Navajo artists will gather at the festival—weavers, jewelers, painters, potters, basket makers—continuing the tradition of bringing their artwork to market and sharing what makes their artwork distinctive. Two days of programming highlight top musical names from the region, a traditional dance group, movies, and revealing talks by area experts to give visitors an inside look into the largest Indian tribe in the Southwest.

It's funny how some ppl lash out at other ppl just for being different. Instead of having a peaceful, positive, intellectual debate they use hateful words, they use childish critics, and call ppl dumb, crazy, or any other name in the book. They point their finger at ppl and tell them they r this or that when that is EXACTLY what they r (look in the mirror). It's so sad how deaf, dumb, and blind some ppl r but refuse to believe they've been brainwashed. Best thing to do is just give your opinion, drop the science and just leave. Instead they wanna fill the internet with hate speech and waste their energy and time with hateful words. Anyways I just want to say to the ppl out there who think u have to keep ya mouth close and follow conventional so called wisdom bcuz u don't want to seem like u r crazy or stupid or what not. Don't! We need your voice. Every1's voice is treasured and valued. U R VALUED! WAKE UP! OPEN YOUR MIND AND HEART! PEACE. 316 :O)

THE ARTIST AS PREACHER: SACRED ART AND THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER
We are so accustomed to hearing the Bible explicated from the pulpit that we overlook the profound insights that artists offer to us. This presentation will open with a brief overview of how calligraphers and illuminators in ancient and medieval Bibles communicated themes to readers of their times, and how illuminations in The Saint John’s Bible communicate and dialogue with contemporary readers.
Fr. ERIC HOLLAS, OSB, is a Benedictine monk and priest of Saint John's Abbey in Collegeville, MN. He received his B.A. in history at Princeton University. Following seminary studies at Saint John's University (MN), he received the Ph.D. in medieval studies at Yale University. In 1980 Fr. Eric became a member of the faculty of Saint John's University (MN), and from 1993-2002 he served as the Executive Director of the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library at Saint John’s. He currently serves as Deputy to the President for Advancement at Saint John's University.

A day in the life of an ancient Athenian - Robert Garland
Check out our Patreon page:
View full lesson:
It’s 427 BCE, and the worst internal conflict ever to occur in the ancient Greek world is in its fourth year. Athens is facing a big decision: what to do with the people of Mytilene, a city on the island of Lesbos where a revolt against Athenian rule has just been put down. How did these kinds of decisions get made? Robert Garland outlines a day in the life of Athenian democracy.

Top Things Sedona Arizona (2018)
Hey you guys! Thanks for joining me on another journey. This week, I am still in Sedona, Arizona. We decided to check out the ancient ruins about 15 miles west of Sedona in the Coconino Forest, called the Honanki Heritage Site. Fortunately, my National Parks pass covered the fee. If you don't have one of those, you can purchase a Red Rock Pass for your vehicle. They are open 9:30am-3:00pm daily. Be sure to call ahead to reserve your position in a group, as they only take so many people through at a time. Keep in mind that they do not recommend passenger cars on the gravel road to the ruins. It is a fairly short walk on the path to the cliff overhang that contains pictographs and petroglyphs of the Sinagua Indians created from 1100 to 1400 AD. We enjoyed learning what the very informative volunteer had to share with our group. He even did a version of show and tell with various artifacts from all those many years ago. That was very cool to see a miniature corn cob, pottery pieces, an arrowhead and even a glass-like rock. Honanki, which means “bear house,” is believed to have been one of the largest Sinagua communities in the Verde Valley. The Honanki ruins housed three separate cultures at different times in history. The Sinagua, Yavapai, and Apache Indians all resided in these ruins over the past seven centuries. The ruins are remarkably preserved and still an active archeological dig site. The red rock canyons became areas of intensive occupation with the construction of cliff dwellings. The Sinagua lived here from about A.D. 1100 to 1300. This period of Southern Sinagua prehistory is called the “Honanki Phase.” Honanki contains a more extensive set of ruins than Palatki. It represents one of the largest population centers in the Verde Valley. There were more than 60 ground floor rooms. There was another whole row of rooms in front of what is visible today, which would bring the total to 72 rooms, with various phases of construction and abandonment. The Sinagua abandoned the site around 1300 A.D., about 50 years after they left Palatki. The rooms at the east end were all destroyed simultaneously in a fire. The rooms were disassembled and stones were used in the construction of new rooms elsewhere on the site, judging by burn-marked stones. There were at least three phases of construction in the alcove. After enjoying the ruins, we walked over to check out the significant amount of rock art at the site. The volunteer over there was very informative as he explained the various forms spanning thousands of years. The rock art was done by the Sinagua and the Yavapai. We even learned that graffiti over approximately 75 years old is now considered part of history and preserved along with the other ancient drawings. What a fantastic opportunity it was to experience history like that! If you are going to or through Sedona, Arizona, I definitely recommend you check out the Honanki Heritage Site.

Ronald Krug & Peter Pilles :: Projectile Point Distributions on the Coconino National Forest
For the past 35 years, projectile points have been routinely collected as part of archaeological surveys conducted by personnel of the Coconino National Forest. From these surveys, over 2,600 projectile points have been collected. Unlike ceramics, which have well established and accepted typologies, efforts to make some sense from the distribution of these points have been frustrated by the lack of a uniform, accepted projectile point typology for the region. Recently, however, the Kaibab and Coconino National Forests have cooperated in developing a typology for projectile points that will hopefully result in a standardized nomenclature for future projects on the two Forests. This paper presents some initial impressions of the geographical distribution and patterns for the various point types on the Coconino National Forest. Points from the Forest represent a complete sequence of activity, from Paleoindian; through Early, Middle, and Late Archaic and into the Northern Sinagua, Southern Sinagua, and Cohonina although points forms usually attributed to the Hohokam, Basketmaker, and Pueblo are also present. Points from the Protohistoric period are also represented and are attributed to the Pai and Apache in both the southern and northern parts of the Forest. Protohistoric points suggest travel corridors between the Verde and Little Colorado River Valleys and indicate Pai utilization of the Anderson Mesa --Chavez Pass area that has not previously been noted.
On October 9, 2010 a symposium organized by David R. Wilcox (Museum of Northern Arizona) and Peter J. Pilles, Jr. (Coconino National Forest), was presented at the Museum of Northern Arizona on Contributions of Avocational Archaeology to Historic Preservation in Arizona. Introduced by Wilcox, eight papers were presented on the results of archaeological surveys conducted in the Middle Verde Valley and northern Arizona, a paper on rock art in the Middle Verde Valley, and one on Paleoindian and Archaic projectile point classification on the Coconino National Forest. John and Lisa Ward of Trailhead Video filmed the proceedings and later integrated the powerpoint presentations to produce the Youtube videos of this event.
