Mandalay Bay Massacre (U.S)
On Sunday the 1st of October 2017, At 10:08pm a lone gunman named as Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old local man, attacked Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America.
The gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel & casino on the Las Vegas strip.
More than 50 people have been killed & over 200 wounded so far in the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
The suspected gunman was killed by police in the Mandalay Bay hotel, across the Las Vegas Boulevard from the festival site.
Paddock’s companion, 62-year-old Marilou Danley, was named by police as a person of interest. Lombardo said authorities were “confident but not 100% sure” that she had been located.
Clark County sheriff, Joe Lombardo, said “We have no idea what his belief system was,” “Right now, we believe he was the sole aggressor & the scene is static.”
The attack took place during the final performances of the three-day Route 91 Harvest country music festival on Sunday night. Two off-duty officers were among the dead, & the overall toll could rise, said Lombardo.
Witnesses who fled the scene described seeing muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay & hearing what they described as sustained automatic gunfire.
“It was very obvious it was gunfire coming down into the crowd,” said Jackie Hoffing, who lives in Las Vegas. “It was hysteria. There were people trampled … I was with my husband. He stayed with me. We jumped walls, climbed cars, ran for our lives. I’ve never run that hard or been that scared in my whole life.”
Desiree Price, visiting the city from San Diego, had blood on her shirt & trousers. “We heard shots like firecrackers,” she said. “I helped someone who was bleeding. Two girls hid behind a car with us right outside the concert. One girl was shot in her leg, the other in her shoulder. It didn’t stop so we all ran – we kept going.”
The White House said Donald Trump was being briefed about the situation. “My warmest condolences & sympathies to the victims & families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting,” the US president tweeted.
Las Vegas city hall said it was a “very sad night for Las Vegas” & warned members of the public to stay away from the south end of the Vegas strip, where the Mandalay Bay is located. The music festival has been held for the past four years on a 15-acre lot across the strip from the hotel & casino.

Las Vegas Shooting - Secret Elevators on 32nd Floor of Mandalay Bay - Route 91 Attack
This video shows Mandalay Bay's secrete elevator bank during Las Vegas Shooting. After months and months of body-cam releases, we have yet to see a single frame or heard anything about this bank of elevators on the 32nd floor. It sure seems we should have seen something by now since surely that secured this area at some point early on in the shooting.
The 2017 Las Vegas shooting occurred October 1st, a Sunday night, when a crowd of over 20,000 concertgoers came under fire while attending the 2017 Route 91 Country Music Harvest Festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. 58 people were left dead and 851 injured. Jason Aldean was on stage and was just about finished with his performance of his hit single, Any Ol Barstool at approximately 10:05PM PDT when the first shots of the this tragic event rang out. Once Mr. Aldean started his performance of his song, When She Says Baby, the shooter continued the assault with what sounded like automatic gunfire and lasted until approximately 10:15PM PDT. During this tragic massacre, the shooter fired an estimated 1,100 rounds from several different AR-15-style assault rifles upon the unsuspecting crowd. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified the shooter as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada who police say was firing from rooms 32134 and 32135 on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino. Las Vegas Police have confirmed that approximately one hour after the last shots of the attack were heard, the Las Vegas Police Department made entry into room 32135 and the gunman was found dead on the floor of his suite from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. No other injuries were reported from the 32 floor of the hotel although the Las Vegas Police Department would later confirm that there was an accidental discharge from a member of the Police team that made entry into the rooms. The shooter’s motives remain unclear at this point in time.
The Las Vegas Shooting marks the deadliest mass shooting event committed in modern United States history. This event has heated up the debate over gun control in the United States and has brought much attention on a device called a “bump stock” which the shooter had installed on his rifles to allow his semi-automatic weapon to perform much like that of a military-grade, fully-automatic weapon.
The casualty statistics from this event are as follows: 36 women & 22 men were killed; 67 was the oldest aged victim and 20 years old was the youngest aged victim; 6 were from Nevada, 35 were from California, 13 from other states and 4 were from Canada; Of the 851 victims injured, 422 were from gunshots; This event bested the previous deadliest mass shooting by 9 victims. In 2016, Orlando’s Pulse nightclub was attacked where 49 victims were shot and killed.

Today I go to see the Memorial for Las Vegas Shooting Victims Mandalay Bay Hotel. This was a very tragic event, but it has been great to see how the community has rallied to show all kinds of support. Tons of good wishes have come from all over the United States as well as other countries around the world to show that they are keeping the victims of this tragedy and the city of Las Vegas in their hearts. All of the residents of the Las Vegas area appreciate all of the love and support that people have shown all over the world for the awful event that took place on October 1st, 2017. There are 58 crosses placed behind the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign to represent each of the victims that will be missed from that day at the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival.

At least 50 people have been killed and another 200 have been wounded in a mass shooting at a Las Vegas concert.
A gunman, named as 64-year-old local resident Stephen Paddock, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel towards an open-air music festival.
He was shot dead by officers in the hotel where a number of guns were found.
The attack is the worst mass shooting in recent US history.
US President Donald Trump tweeted his warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and their families, and called the shooting terrible.
Sheriff Joe Lombardo described the shooting as a lone wolf attack. He added that police were now confident they had located a woman, earlier named as Marilou Danley, who was suspected of travelling with the gunman before the attack.
Sheriff Lombardo said he was unable to give accurate details of dead and wounded, but confirmed two off-duty police officers were among those killed.
A local hospital spokesperson said earlier that at least 14 of the injured were in a critical condition.
There had been reports of other incidents at different locations along the Las Vegas strip, but police said those reports were false.
Witnesses reported that hundreds of shots were fired.
Hundreds of people fled the scene and the sound of what appeared to be prolonged automatic gunfire could be heard on videos posted on social media.
Many hotels on the Las Vegas strip close to the scene remained on police lockdown and parts of Las Vegas Boulevard were shut.
People sheltered in hotels, restaurants and at Las Vegas McCarran airport.
A witness, Mike Thompson from London, told the BBC that he saw people running in total panic.
One man had blood all over him and that's when I knew something was seriously wrong.
People were running and there was chaos.
Some flights were diverted after news of the incident emerged.
The country music festival had been taking place since Friday at several hotels on the Las Vegas strip.
Nevada has some of the least stringent gun laws in the United States.
People are allowed to carry weapons and do not have to register themselves as a gun-owner.
Background checks are done when people buy guns, but they are also allowed to sell them privately.

The 2017 Las Vegas shooting occurred October 1st, a Sunday night, when a crowd of over 20,000 concertgoers came under fire while attending the 2017 Route 91 Country Music Harvest Festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada. 58 people were left dead and 851 injured. Jason Aldean was on stage and was just about finished with his performance of his hit single, Any Ol Barstool at approximately 10:05PM PDT when the first shots of the this tragic event rang out. Once Mr. Aldean started his performance of his song, When She Says Baby, the shooter continued the assault with what sounded like automatic gunfire and lasted until approximately 10:15PM PDT. During this tragic massacre, the shooter fired an estimated 1,100 rounds from several different AR-15-style assault rifles upon the unsuspecting crowd. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has identified the shooter as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada who police say was firing from rooms 32134 and 32135 on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino. Las Vegas Police have confirmed that approximately one hour after the last shots of the attack were heard, the Las Vegas Police Department made entry into room 32135 and the gunman was found dead on the floor of his suite from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. No other injuries were reported from the 32 floor of the hotel although the Las Vegas Police Department would later confirm that there was an accidental discharge from a member of the Police team that made entry into the rooms. The shooter’s motives remain unclear at this point in time.
