Klong Mahasawat AGRICULTURAL TOUR
Klong means 'Canal'
Mahasawat canal was made in 1859-1860 for the irrigation for the farmlands and transportation to Bangkok.
Agricultural Tour was started over 20 years ago by the headquarters of this local villages, at first the main purpose to show Thais, a group of students, etc to learn about local lifestyle of this community. Nowadays this tour is also well known to tourists who are looking for 'get off the beaten path' activities.
Take a long tail boat to do 4 highlight activities
1) Take paddle boat in the biggest lotus flower farm.
2) Ride farm truck to see the fruit farms and rice fields.
3) Learn how to make rice crispy cracker.
4) Visit the largest orchid farm.
Before all activities start, enjoy feed bread to massive catfish in the canal. Then take a long tail boat ride to do all 4 activities, each platform takes 5 - 15 minutes by boat.
1) Take paddle boat in the biggest lotus flower farm. Every other day, the owner of the farm will collect 1000-1500 lotus flowers and sell to Flower Market in Bangkok. Lotus flower means the purification of the lord buddha teaching. As more than 90% of Thais are Buddhists, hence Thais use all flowers specific lotus flower as an offering to Buddhist temples.
2) Ride farm truck to see the fruit farms and rice fields. The owner of the farm would ride his man-made farm truck 10 minutes to show you his farms where he usually picks up all of his products by using this truck. These amazing green farms have so many kinds of fruits such as pomelo (grapefruit), banana, mangoes, jackfruits, and other seasonal fruits. Most of my customers are amazing how he rides his farm truck especially the way how he turns left or turns right with his special skills and experiences.
3) Learn how to make rice crispy cracker. One of the well-known product of this local community is a rice cracker. Thais love snacking all day and rice cracker is our favorite and we can keep it for 2 months. You will learn how to make the dry rice cracker, deep fried with the delicious sauce recipe and topping with sasame seeds and shredded pork.
4) Visit the largest orchid farm. One of the top export product is the orchid flower. Because we have strong humidity, we can grow orchid very easily and very cheap price. You will surprise how inexpensive of our orchids are, that why Thais use orchid and other flowers as an offering to temples and spirit house daily.
The total 4 activities may take 2 - 2.30 hours depending on the group size.

✅5 Thai Language for Travelers + Thai Greeting (..Ask for Not Too Spicy ???? and Bathroom/Toilet..)

When you travel to Thailand, Have you ever thought about speaking or asking English language with local Thais and it could be unsuccess because of Thais might not understand English well…

‘Wai’ or Thai greeting by Bowing.
First thing, wherever you travel in Thailand you will see Thai people greeting to each other by ‘bow’ or wai to each other which is similar to shake hands, hug, kiss. We bow for these situations such as greeting hi, hello, thank you, sorry, ask for permission, farewell or bow in the temples.
The question ‘Can you bow as a tourist?’ ‘Is bowing appropriate?’
The answer is YES PLEASE, you can bow to Thai people and we love this! It’s a very respectful and polite thing to do here.
How to “Wai”
Put your 2 palms together in between your chest with a slight bow with your beautiful smile.
For the beautiful looking when you bow, you want to keep your elbows next to your body. Not put elbow away from your body because you don’t want to bump the persons next you.
Wai or bow is very flexible and it’s up to you if you would like to bow or not when you say hi, hello or thank you. But trust me, every time you bow, you will see a beautiful reaction smile from Thai people.
So when you say hi/hello or thank you, don’t forget to bow when you say these words like this Sawasdee Ka (Bow) / Kopkunka (Bow)

Flower Market is not just seeing flowers, there is a secret meaning how we using them for.
Flower Market ‘Pak Khlong Talat’
Pak means mouth
Khlong Means canal
Talat means market
The market is located on the mount of the canal.
Nowadays is the biggest wholesale and retail fresh flower market in Bangkok. It opens 24 hours and all flowers are sold out every day!
There are many kinds of flowers such as orchids, jasmine garlands, marigolds, roses and etc. All of these flowers are delivered from the provinces nearby Bangkok.
When you visit the flower market, you will amaze how inexpensive prices of all these flowers are. As the climate in Thailand is strong humidity all year round, we can produce all flowers very easy and affordable prices. All Thais would buy flowers almost every day to use as an offering to Buddhist, Hindu temples, spirit houses or use all special occasions.
In the evening time, all wholesalers bring in truckloads of freshly prepare flowers, while traders and retailers come to buy their stock in bulk. There is imported species such as tulips, snapdragons, iris, lisianthus, delphinium and much more. Some vendors also arrange handmade marigold bouquets, flower garlands, floral accessories for weddings or any special occasions.
I would recommend you add this Flower Market on your travel day in Bangkok tour as the location is very close to all the major sites in Bangkok of The Grand Palace & The Emerald Buddha Temple, The Reclining Buddha Temple ‘Wat Pho’, The Temple of Dawn ‘Wat Arun’.
You will fascinate and experience the round-the-clock activity and bustle of an authentic working market. You can ‘The Real Thais’ very well.

Maeklong Railway Market ‘Talat Rom Hoop’
Talat = market . Rom = umbrella . Hoop = pull or fold
Means ‘The Folding Umbrella Market’
The Maeklong Railway has a distance of 60 kilometers / 37 miles with the market on the side of the railway track 300 meters / 1000 feet.
A local market has many stalls next to sides of the railway track with fresh Thai ingredients, seafood, vegetables, fruit vendors and etc. All of the vendors line their products under the awning umbrellas for shade during the day. Local Thais shop at these stalls by walking on the railway track looking for their foods.
Not just that..
There are 8 times every day - A public transportation train will run pass-through this market.
You will be amazed how quickly that all vendors have to organize their stalls to get ready before the train will arrive and run-pass through their stalls. They arrange to pull their stalls and awnings umbrellas backward to allow the train to pass through in great precision. And immediately after the train goes, all vendors back on track and start their business again.
All of these processes take very quickly within 5 minutes - 8 times a day, every day
The Maeklong Railway Market Train Schedule in 2019 is:
6.20 am / 8.30 am / 9.00 am / 11.10 am./ 11.30 am / 2.30 pm / 3.30pm / 5.40 pm
To understand a system of how this market works, I recommend you arrive there before the train arrives at least 20 minutes before.
Tip
- Feel free to take photos and enjoy the market. Each stall is unique.
- Please don’t forget each stall is a store. Local Thais come to this market to buy every day, please allow space for them to work while you enjoy touring and photos.
- Please support local Thais, there are many delicious foods, fruits or drink shops at this market.
- Thais believe in good spirits when selling. Please don’t step over any products on the railway ground, Thais are considered as bad luck for their stalls.

Exploring Bangkok, Thailand 2019. Shop, Eat & Tattoo.
Our yearly family vacation overseas after the schooling period. This trip to Bangkok was more towards shopping and a little sight seeing.
DUBAI & BANGKOK 2017
Dec 19th - 24th 2017
We decided to merge Dubai with Bangkok in one video. Get a cuppa ready, its a long one! :)
We left Glasgow on our first flight at 9pm arriving in Dubai 8 hours later local time 9am.
Our Dubai layover was 8 hours long so we left the airport and headed to the Dubai mall (The world's biggest mall). After wandering for hours round the mall we headed the Burj Khalifa (world's tallest building) of which we hoped to go to the top viewing point, however, it was sold out that afternoon. We enjoyed the view looking at it all the same.
Our flight from Dubai to Bangkok was at 6 and 8 hours later we arrived, local time 2am. That day was a completer write off after waiting until 2pm to check in we just caught up on some sleep. Luckily Smile Society hostel were so accommodating and allowed us to hang out in their cosy little common room.
The next day, Day 1 of our holiday we walked for miles, seeing what we could find. We stumble across some beautiful Chinese bhudda temples and markets. After a stroll in the park and arriving at the grand temple we headed back to Smile society. That night we went on a Tuk Tuk Food Tour in which we went to some amazing food restaurants one of which had a Michelin star in the street food category. The tour included a walk round the big bhudda temple after hours, a drink on a rooftop bar and a wander round the midnight flower market.
Day two, we went to The Chatuchak Market (World's largest market). Then went to a strip of bars and clubs where one too many cocktails were had.
Day Three, We visited La Ting floating market. After dinner we then boarded the sleeper train to Koh Samui our next location.

GET YOUR GUIDE Ayutthaya Temples Day Trip from Bangkok
We booked the 'Get Your Guide Full Day Ayutthaya Temples & Floating Market Day Trip' which departed at 0950.
We started the 2-hour drive to Ayutthaya. The ancient city of Ayutthaya was founded around 1350, and became the second capital of Siam after Sukhothai. On this full-day trip, you will explore the ruins of the old city, in the UNESCO listed Ayutthaya Historical Park. The park is an archaeological site that contains palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries, and statues.
On the way our first stop is at the Bang Pa-In Royal Palace. The palace was originally built in 1632 by King Prasat Thong. At this spot, you can find a number of impressive buildings built in different architectural styles from Thai, Chinese and European design.
Next is a visit to 'Ayothaya Floating Market' for a boat ride and some market shopping. We enjoyed a very nice lunch (at our own expense) at the restaurant near the 'Ayothaya Floating Market'.
After lunch, the tour visited two more historical sites - Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet to discover the historical ruins of the great temple sites. We also saw the Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit Temple with its large Golden Buddah.
Our tour returned to Bangkok at around 6:00 PM, where we were dropped off near Terminal 21 Shopping Centre at Asok.
A great day trip that I can highly recommend!

Life In Thailand - Hangover 4 - Adventure Thai'm #20 Travel VLOG featuring Stan & Lu embarking on their new adventure in Thailand. See how life unfolds for this couple trying to make it in the 'Land of Smiles'.
In this episode: We take Lu's parents to Bangkok to enjoy their last few days in Thailand, exploring the Capital. We are lucky enough to live it up for a few days at the Anantara Siam Hotel where Stan decides to show you how we can't afford anything from the minibar! We show Lu's parents around Asiatique, as featured in our previous VLOG Adventure Thai'm #2, from when we first arrived in Thailand. As this is Lu's parent's first time in Bangkok, we hit the busy streets of Khao San Road, which is a must for first-timers despite the tourist crowds! We end the VLOG with our special trip to the Banyan Tree Hotel, Vertigo Grill & Moon Bar. Although not the same rooftop bar that shot the famous scene from the movie, Sue still decides to dub this VLOG 'Hangover 4'. You'll know why as you see us enjoy a few celebratory/goodbye drinks at sunset, 61 floors above the city as Ian battles his own Vertigo! It's been great having Lu's parents along for the ride... we miss you already.
