Mangla Dam is a multipurpose dam located on the Jhelum River in the Mirpur District of Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan. It is the seventh largest dam in the world. The dam got its name from the village of Mangla. the project was designed and supervised by Binnie & Partners of London (the team led by partner Geoffrey Binnie),[2] and it was built by Mangla Dam Contractors, a consortium of 8 U.S. construction firms, sponsored by Guy F. Atkinson Company of South San Francisco.

Mangla Dam is the second largest Dam in Pakistan and this Dam was built in 1960's by late General Ayub Khan on river Jhelum. It is now between Mangla and Mirpur. On the boundary of Punjab and Azad Kashmir. It's main purpose is agriculture but also used to produce electricity. It is 25 km away from Jhelum city on GT road and 110 km away from Islamabad.
